listen. now that bts is standing on business and rejecting a racist category literally created just for them, all these other kpop groups are going to be fighting for that award, just to be considered “first” in the industry to “get a grammy”. but i’m like…does that not feel gross to you? do you not have any pride? because the whole world knows that isn’t your award. if bts didn’t drop out—hell, if bts didn’t exist—you wouldn’t even be on the academy’s radar. so. can you really accept and have any pride in being the consolation? the token?? like, it’s not even like you were in second place and got bumped to first. you legitimately weren’t even in the running. weren’t even a second or third or eightieth thought.
