â No, I didnât. I was simply passing by. â
Sheâs stammering, and he canât be sure if itâs habit or nerves, but he wouldnât be surprised if itâs the latter. She canât have been expecting to find anyone out here, let alone someone like him.
â I saw you on my way into town and thought to check on you,    thatâs all. What do you mean by you usually end up here, anyway?    Do you sleepwalk? â
Well, thatâs really none of his business, now, is it?â but heâs curious, regardless, and if so, it seems a bad idea to let her sleepwalk up around the precipice of a cliff overlooking the sea.
â - âAh...â She shifted uncomfortably. Sheâd never heard of someone âjust passing byâ Tenuto. It was a fairly isolated hamlet, after all. Unless you came from the woods there really was no reason to go through the town at all. It was more of a place to escape from the general populace than it was a place to go between destinations.
A hint of a blush touched her cheeks when he mentioned checking on her. She wasnât really sure how to respond to that. Perhaps she was in more danger that sheâd thought...
âSleepwalk? N-no, sir. I just donât sleep very well, s-so I like listen to the ocean and look at Ritardandoâs lights,â She gestured at the other town that was just visible from her perch, âI-itâs really calming. So... thereâs r-really no need to worry about me. But, ah, if youâre really just passing through... Do you need help finding an place to stay for the night?â
