Let 2018 be the year black Kpop fans stop giving a fuck. We’ve been trying for years to educate these celebrities or at the very least acknowledge the harm their actions/words have caused their black fans yet they keep doing the same shit. Call one out for cultural appropriation and the next week someone else does the same damn thing. Lets call them out in person. Embarrass them. If asking nicely doesn’t work and educating them nicely doesn’t work, try something else. I wonder if Jackson would have been comfortable brushing off fans if they called him out about his dreads and cultural appropriation at one of their US fanmeets/concerts. What about RM/Namjoon from BTS? Or any other BTS member for that matter? Y'all still think Native American names are funny? What’d you think when all those people were attacking CupCakKe? Let’s find out if Henry still thinks wearing a blonde wig is the equivalent of blackface. Hell, does Yesung still think he should paint his skin black in order to dress up like a black character? Does Taeyang still wanna be black in his next life so he can use the pain and suffering of black people to write better music? Bobby still think Hip Hop is not showering for two weeks? Call them out. They might ignore us on the internet. Its easy to pretend you didn’t see it. But they can’t ignore us in person. They might not be able to respond right then and there but they can’t pretend like they never got called out.
