Jax 100% caused Ribbit to abstract, yes, but I just do not agree with all the people saying he caused Kaufmo to abstract as well.

Whether you believe Jax is trans or not, the fact that there are fans who believe it brought us this absolute gem, and for that, I think we should all be grateful.

I guess I get why they’re saying it, but I don’t know if I really agree with the people say “transfem Jax is/would be bad trans representation because Jax is a horrible person.” And it’s like yeah, I get that. But in addition to the fact that Jax is supposed to be “the worst possible scenario” for Goose (which I interpreted as her never accepting herself and coming out). We’re not supposed to look at Jax and think trauma stemming from childhood abuse, emotional abuse, emotional incest, etc. and self-hatred/insecurities make it okay to abuse people. Jax’s trauma will never be an excuse.

Hating Jax is completely valid. There are definitely a list of reasons not to. However, there’s one argument I find myself disagreeing with. People keep citing Goose saying that the characters in the Circus can still feel pain, and Jax has done things to the others that would obviously cause pain. But the thing is that I’d say that probably the majority of those times are gags. “But Goose says they feel pain.” Yeah, I totally understand you, but this series is a dark comedy, and we need to remember that cartoon comedy gags include a lot of stuff that would probably be painful. I’m not saying to excuse Jax hurting people, but I’m saying that I don’t think there was really that kind of thought behind it. “Hey, you know what would be funny? If Jax shoved Ragatha in the fryer and somehow it’s super deep and fits her whole body.”
