Bennington and Waverly Smith were loyal to SHIELD and reluctant to split when trouble first came out. However, they had no choice when their high levels in a department that should have been aware of the HYDRA infiltration made them easy to be implicated. They faked their deaths and fled with their daughter, who is now nearly nine months old. They live in an undisclosed location under assumed names. They are also expecting a second child.
Elias Hartley found himself in a similar situation to the one Ben and Waverly were in. He was a high ranking agent for a good part of his life. He didn’t fake his death, but he vanished with almost no traces. He did, however, break off his engagement with Ariadne for her protection, and told her, very vaguely, that he was returning to Australia. Only his father and brother know exactly where he is or the identity he now lives under. We do know, however, that he has bought, and now runs, a cattle ranch. And that his leg functionality has returned.
Gordon McAllister and his wife Siren had a hard time leaving. They both wanted to stand by Captain America, Nick Fury, and the other good guys. However, their children’s safety was their first priority. Both of them had clean enough records, and even though Siren was head of Interrogations, she was able to get away without much difficulty. They moved their family to Lexington, Kentucky, to live near her family. Gordon’s still searching for a new job.
Steven Knox got his Master’s degree in English this past winter, so he was lucky to already have a backup plan in the works when SHIELD blew. He hurriedly got his teaching certification and plans to teach at a high school while he works on his doctorate. He and his girlfriend, Sybil, who had already left SHIELD, live together and plan to marry soon.
Michael Fillmore managed to transfer back to the CIA and works there rather inconspicuously. He has a desk job once again, a nice new house in the Langley area, and a new boyfriend. He is very happy with the way his life has gone, but he still misses SHIELD and the people he used to know.
Parama Chowdhury moved back to Michigan and secured a position as a politics columnist with the Grand Rapids newspaper her father works for. She, like many, prefers not to discuss her brief employment with SHIELD. When she applied for the job, she left her job with the agency off her resume.
Winona Sheppard returned to her hometown. Her large family was happy to hear from her after all hell broke loose. She lives with them once more and works as a waitress at a local diner while she looks for more gainful employment.
Lynette Tucker was a HYDRA operative all along. Her present whereabouts are unknown, but the presumption is that she returned to them. She never made much of an impression at SHIELD, which was precisely her intention. The rest of Internal Affairs feels stupid for not seeing her for the mole she was.
Celia Collins was able to secure early retirement. She and her husband sold their New Jersey home and purchased an RV. They’re now traveling all around the country and having the time of their lives.
Lennox Sovesky and his wife were in Istanbul back in April when he suffered a stroke. He passed away in the hospital a week later and had his ashes scattered in the Mediterranean. It wasn’t until he was already dead that his past HYDRA involvement came to light. Yes, the old man was mad, but he had his fair share of dark secrets.
