"Florida, it's been ages!" South grins, opening her arms for a hug. "They shipped you away to some box canyon, huh?"

“Eh. It’s not that funny. I mean, shit, it took me long enough believe Washs’ first name was David…” There was a slight pause, and another satisfied breath as she happily rested. It had been far too long since she’d seen her buddy, but honestly, she had no idea where ‘outpost alpha’ or whatever.

“I could of told you that our young agent’s name was actually David.” HE chuckled softly.

California relaxed, but only slightly. “So… the brass didn’t send you after me or anything?” She wanted to make sure. After all, Florida would be the perfect kind of person to send after her, make her drop her guard for the easy take-in… or take-down. “I’m sorry for asking. It’s just… the Director said you were dead… and no-one from the Project that ran is exactly clean anymore.”

Florida smiled as he shrugged slightly.  “Technically to all of the project, I am dead, I am not suppose to even let you know that I’m actually alive.” No, he was meant to keep it quiet that he was actually alive, having taken away with Alpha unit...and had done his best to keep an eye on the unit.

Dally. She hated that nickname, and had it been anyone else, she would have probably beaten them within an inch of their life. But it was hard to stay mad at Florida. She’d tried it once and failed spectacularly. He was… just too damn cheerful, a stark contrast to her usual pessimism.

It was fucking strange how the two got along, but nevertheless, others opinions didn’t seem to matter in the slightest, cause who else was going to keep her warm the nights that the Mother of Invention heating screwed up? Yup, just Florida. And she was freezing after the Director happened to cut Florida away.

California lifted her head up from cleaning and stripping a Magnum momentarily, gazing at the figure before her. It had been a while since she had heard that jovial voice. Underneath her helmet, her eyebrow quirked up in faint recognition.
