Tulips blooming - three generations!

Such wonderful colours, I could stare at them for hours

The colours are appearing (and then disappearing) thick and fast

It is a pleasure to stop and stare, and while away the morning.

I’ve also planted out my three year old coleus this week - and it’s doing well!

Otherwise, the garden is surviving the heat.

Though with less activity in the centre this summer.

Really pleased to see that the gladioli in the shade are showing the first signs of colour

Added wildflower meadow (bee friendly) seeds to the centre given mixed results from previous seeds

And checking in on the ranunculus.. not bad

Tulips coming along nicely.. so I’ve just scattered some summer wildflower seeds (bee mix) and hope they’ll come up soon.

The feeding earlier in the week has helped to energise the purple ranunculus..

I’ve planted out the indoor ranunculus but I’m not convinced they’ll survive and bloom.

And scattered some bunny tail seeds in the corner, to keep the silver dust company. I’m hoping the green shoots are the creeping phlox. I shall have to keep an eye on it.

And, this summer, the pièce de résistance will be the the gladioli (though I suspect some of them have started to rot.. and may be too close together).

Come on orange tulips!

Tulips (fewer than I was expecting) have bloomed! Though in need of my garlic spray to deter the local aphid population..

My mango tulip buds have also emerged.

And the best news of all is that last year’s ranunculus has survived, and there are buds for the first time! (Please ignore the weeds.. nervous about disturbing the ranunculus..)

Lack of sunshine and plenty of slugs means my tulips are struggling

Purple/ white tulips and crocuses coming through - though the tulips appear to have fallen victim to a gang of slugs who were still rather arrogantly sliming around when I looked in just now.

The circle of warmer coloured tulips and daffodils faring a little better.

I’m rather proud of this year’s mango tulips popping up.

Otherwise, nothing to report. Silver dust corner still holding up.

Less sure about this year’s bulbs.. though a few crocuses or tulip roses peeping out!

Otherwise, plants doing well over winter!
