Crank Sturgeon:

considering throwing my no sugar diet out the fucking window for one of these.
Combining stoner rock distortionado with psychedelic rock’s penchant for effect-laden sound, the Californian bunch Dahga Bloom's debut vinyl LP, originally released on beautiful blue vinyl (sold out already) have managed to create a high-energy cannabis-infused psychedelic like (kinda like...

Just purchased this "Crushed Glass Tube Synth" for about 50 dollars. The schematics were online for a while and this guy built a pretty good version of it. I'm not super crazy about buying stuff other people have custom made, but that makes about as much sense as me being totally okay with buying stuff that was mass produced. I was interested in the low-to-mid level distortion sounds it made with tube oscillators. Also the guy that sold it to me mostly used it for "minimalist harsh noise" and he builds a lot of stuff for HNW stuff. Both of which I am not interested in. I kind of looked at it as re-purposing a tool I would never used for it's intended aesthetics. I want to have a good low end, and I like the idea of using this tube synth instead of just pedals.
Very happy with this purchase.
Synsonics Drums
Things that are cool about this 1982 drum machine I just bought:
100% analog
Kraftwerk used this exact kind
Can memorize sequences you tap out on the drums
Is also kind of "playable" with the buttons
Speeds up and slows down
Pitch adjustment for the first tom
Stereo Ouput
Super-circuit bendable
Has 4 "memory" things
Can play manually and pretend I'm one of four German guys from Kraftwerk
70 bucks + 10 warranty = Better than anything else within a 100 dollar range. Also I love borderline toy electronics. Crazy excited for this to come in the mail.
Some of these punk flyers/nu-punk band names/punk flyers are mega-stupid. Also I'm starting a two person band with an old school drum machine, electronics, vocals, guitar. Audio coming soon. Shit will be nuts. Suicide/early electronic beats meets punk guitar with no distortion and dumb yelling.
