Lengthy boring explanation:

start every piece of text with the special starting symbol. The purpose of this symbol is so the reader can track where a text is meant to start, as orientation (whether the letters are going up, down, left, right) largely doesn’t matter in Conspellations. Words can start wherever and go in whatever direction and orientation you’d like.

Connect every letter with a line, the number and shape of those lines depending on the relationship of the letters. One for letter separation, two for word separations, three for sentence separations, and bunch others. Almost every symbol link together on both ends, but don’t get too twisted on the specifics of how they connect.

Symbols like apostrophes, periods, exclamation points, etc attach themselves to the letter rather than becoming a part of the connecting line, just like English letters.

Numbers are still bound by orientation, and you must put this arrow symbol on the right side (product side). This is mostly because things like fractions depend on an ‘up’ and ‘down’, and it felt like a hassle to modify that. It’s good etiquette to keep the entire expression straight and the same width (same as the ending arrow symbol). Like sentences, feel free to point the arrow in any direction. Of course, any mathematical terms made of numbers letters are directly translated to Conspell-letters. You don’t generally need to put the starting symbol at the start of math equations because of the ending arrow, but I wouldn’t get mad if you did.

Of course I had to pay special attention to the math. Science fiction has gripped me by the neck.

I like using this cipher to construct poems that look like constellations. I like combining art forms that way.

You might be wondering why some words branch off of each other. This is the second purpose of a directional arrow, as it indicates where you should read first before going back at the intersection and going the other direction.
