Its to the point where most Americans can’t conceive of a walkable community because everywhere is like this and several generations have now grown up in a world like this. There’s hardly anyone that can conceive of a world that isn’t like this. Most people either cave in and get a car or end up isolated. I live in a city that’s mostly walkable by North American standards and I still end up walking in the dirt on the edge of a stroad a lot of the time.

And don't forget, we can't get decent public transportation either.

okay not to ocpost again but the worst thing about having an oc is sometimes they become The Character to you. and you need to talk to someone about it like wow I can’t stop thinking about The Character… but in order to do so you have to like sit them down and explain everything about your oc first. and then it’s just you explaining your writing ideas. i need to talk about them the same way i would talk about any random character i love to someone.

not an apologizer but a contextualizer. yes the character did that but please understand the Circumstance. yes they had other options but they had to make this choice in a sea of available bad choices. and also it made the narrative more interesting. won't anybody think about the narrative!!!!!

I saw a poll on here in passing recently about where people first learned about the concept of lesbians, and the possible responses were all like "knew one", "taught about them", "saw them on TV". girl I learned about lesbians because when I was four I got obsessed with a girl in my class and kept imagining elaborate arthurian scenarios where one or other of us was revealed to secretly be a (male) knight in disguise, but after a while I got so frustrated that I couldn't progress the situation beyond that fantasy that I went to my parents and asked "are girls allowed to marry girls" and they went well. not yet. sit down, kid.
