Company from a Bottle.
The average looking woman smelled of booze and had red rimmed, watery eyes of the purest chocolate. Her nose was running a bit as the sounds of sniffles coming from her lungs echoed lightly around her. Not to mention her hair was straggly and looked as though it hadnât been cared for in a few days.
She stared down at a golden-chained pocket watch about her neck, an intricate piece to be sure that looked to hold a noble design. A grease covered thumb flicked the faceplate of the watch open and closed several times as it created a click-clacking noise that seemed to distract her, or at least calm her.
A passerby may see her, people may gossip, but she was clearly not paying attention to the world around her as she sat along the cobbled ground, her knees bent as an arm lay curled around them.
((I want to start writing Clodia more and so, this is an open RP prompt to anyone within Stormwind. Feel free to respond or gossip or anything youâd care to do!))
Draeneic hooves clacked on the cobblestones next to Clodia as a looming shadow moved in the way of the sun cascading down upon the street. A blue Draenei stopped in front of her, and peered down, her sickeningly sweet smile faltering at the sight of her tears. âWhatâs the matter, beautiful lady?â
((@clockmakerclodia . Feel free to disregard if Iâm late to the game you already got a thread going))
The sniveling woman lifted her eyes to the Draenei as she struggled a moment to focus. âHuh?â She croaked out before lifting a hand and swiping at her snotty nose, grease smearing some along her complexion. âN-nothing is wrong!â She bit out defensively. âWhy does it matter if there was?â
@aellesaan
The woman's snippy demeanor caused Aellesaan to cringe back slightly, but she persevered nonetheless. This was a woman in need of a smile and a kind soul. "Do you normally cry when nothing is wrong?" A finely tweezed eyebrow lifted, not believing Clodia at all. "I mean you no harm, just to offer some comfort. These tears do not fit you." Aellesaan twisted to ruffle through her bag, all sorts of accoutrements clinking around inside, before proferring a clean square cloth to wipe her tears with. "Here, you need this more than I."
Aellesaan didn't so much care that the woman was upset, more that she wasn't happy. It brought Aelle joy seeing other people smile, laugh, and generally enjoy the life they were gifted with.

8. sunbathing for the story prompt ask meme!
The winter in Stormwind had been an odd one. The sword in Silithus having created odd weather patterns, and perhaps even making some normal weather that much harsher. Having grown up in Draenor, and then Azuremyst Isle, Aellesaan was not use to the insurmountable amount of rain and snow that came and went. She missed the sun shiny days, and the cool breezes that would pass through to make the heat bearable. Not to mention the winter days where you might get a light dusting of snow, and watch as the sun glinted off of it in itâs orange yellow beauty. But on this day, Aellesaan was lucky. The past few weeks had been difficult to say the least; containing many tests and an endless abyss of books and papers. Her room was trashed with papers and books strewn about, dishes piled up, and laundry that hadnât been touched in 2 weeks or more. In fact, as she lay in the sun, her hair was up in your typical messy bun and looking fairly unwashed. Aellesaan did not care. The sun was out, and she had passed all her exams with flying colours. Today was a day for celebration and relaxation.Â
A cup of tea sat next to her as she lay there in the grass below the Mage Tower, in her wrinkled pajamas, and shadow crested eyes. Despite her rumpled appearance, a beautiful smile lay across her lips, making her chubby cheeks sport dimples on each side. To any outsider, she was the typical exhausted mage student enjoying the sun and outdoors while she could. To herself, she was a younger version of herself in Draenor, laying on the nearby hill and sunbathing with Avaara and Caemos, their laughter delightfully filling her ears.Â
((Thanks!! This was a very nice slice of pie writing to create.))

[Book] The Koâpii Tragedy
by Raava of Nuuvak
â Of the many inspired wonders of Argus we Exiles were forced to leave behind, the Koâpii fish was one of the most painful to see vanish into oblivion. If you are an indigenous reader you might be wondering why indeed a small aquatic creature is of any concern or cultural mourning. âSurely there were other priceless works of art or family heirlooms that would cause greater distress.â Perhaps to some, but for others you would be wrong.
To understand the tragic loss of the Koâpii fish, one must understand the core purpose of this sadly extinct creature , and the importance of the social activity that sprung up around it.
The hooves of the Draenei - or Eredar, as we were then, - are not simply âboots attached to our bodyâ. They are not garments we can switch out, but a fixed part of us that are a part of our identity. Â Like your hair or your overly long ears, hooves have been a source of physical pride for my people, and quite naturally a great many techniques and treatments sprung up around keeping them pristine and attractive.
It is unclear when the first Koâpii fish were utilized for hoofcare, but a common story is that a wandering arcanist traversing the Uudon Mountains stumbled across a breed of lake dwelling fish picking at the hooves of the docile vandrra ( which was a hooved, filter-feeding grazer for you natives and post-exodus Draenei who never had the chance to view one) lounging in the pools. Curious, the arcanist collected a number of specimens and brought them back to his tower for study. Â What he found was that the fish had a specialized row of teeth that were great not only for removing parasites and fungus, but secreted a soothing chemical that eased the creature it was feeding off of, not to unsimilar from these strange âvampiric batâ creatures on Azeroth. Intrigued, the arcanist began to make alterations to the koâpii with magical enchantments and calculated mutations. Soon, the specialized koâpii could polish and clean an Eredarâs hooves with a sort of âhungry graceâ, pulling away chips, smoothing dents and cracks, and mellowing any aches.
The tale continues with the arcanist sharing his new creation with friends and family, and from there his village. The fish and their special gifts became their focus, and thus the first âKoâpan Spaâ was born. The trend spread quickly around many villages and cities of Argus. New spas began altering their koâpii fish with more magic, giving each sub-breed of fish a unique talent that set them apart from those of another Koâpan. These special traits included things like teeth that could carve subtle, thin patterns into a hoof for decoration, rub a healing secretion that mixed with a chemical in the pools water that strengthened the keratin of the hoof, and even fish that could layer and weave in thin glyphs.
While not every village had a Koâpan spa, their leap in popularity eventually resulted in them being prime locations of social gatherings. Eredar would come together to relax, drink, smoke, and discuss magical theorem with one another around the treatment pools. The spas themselves were often highly decorated with beautiful flowers and sculptures from local artists, paid for local musicians and poets to serenade customers, and often paid or traded top resource to sit on a vista overlooking their city or local lake. In several places the Koâpan were so popular that â getting your hooves nibbledâ became a common saying.
Sadly, the popularity of the Koâpan and their talented, miracle fish would play a part in the creatureâs extinction, as well as the practice. Koâpii breeding and alteration was a fiercely guarded art. No spa wanted another taking their specialization, and even the smallest of details were hidden away. When the foul Legion came to ruin and pervert our home, no Koâpii keepers managed to make it to the Genedar in time to be saved, nor were any of the fish saved by the archivers ( a great oversight!) who whisked away the talbuk and elekk calfs.
And so, the legacy of the koâpii fish and the Koâpan spas end. It grieves me that younger exiles will never be able to enjoy the experience, nor be able to create memories around those tranquil pools. I have heard rumor that some old mages such as myself hope to revive the practice using Azerothian fish, but I wonder: could any mundane creature from this world ever match up to the koâpii? Time will tell.â
Chroniclerâs Notes: â It is always fascinating to see how different races have used magic in their day to day lives. The Eredar/Draenei peoples have always been some of the most fascinating to learn about, especially their homeworld. You never know what you might discover from a race where magic was once as common asâŠwell, breathing!
