I know the distance killed us. what if one day I came to you? pointed to a date on the calendar. asked you how full-filling your life felt. asked you if you were looking for something else. told you I have no expectations of life and I rarely think of death. would you trust me ..would you come with me ..or do you think you’d be too scared? what if I couldn’t promise anything? showed you a map. pointed to a country you’ve never heard of. asked you if you still enjoyed the coast. asked you if you got rid of all your ghosts. told you I have a free spirit and endorse succumbing to desire. would you think I was unstable..would you think I was a character from a fable.. ..or do you think it’d be enough to ignite the fire? what if you already settled down? pointed out your new promotion at work. claimed you felt satisfied. claimed you weren’t bored. -ignoring those cravings and suppressing the urge. would you be reckless enough to escape ..would you be afraid to runaway ..or do you think it would be exactly what you were looking for? what if I love happy endings? believed everything ends just as it began regardless if it may. believed nothing was too big for reality unless we decided it to be that way. understanding the past is the past and everyone changes. would you think back to those days..would you remember all those talks of traveling to far off lands ..would you start humming a song of our favorite band ..or would you politely decline my offer? thank me for the coffee. thank me for our memory.
