YOU HAVE GIVEN ME POWER, but ballroom dance with Cameron x reader 👀
Revel in your newfound power, my friend! As a ballroom dance with Lord Cameron is coming right up!
It was an active evening in the house of Reid. It wasn't unlike the owner of the house to open up his vast, extravagant home to others- but rarely was it ever in the case of hosting a party. This was because it was the wish of one of his beloved children to have this celebration for their birthday, and ever the doting father, Cameron complied.
His many servants roamed the halls, carrying trays of fresh food, keeping the house clean, tending to the guests or some simply patrolling the house to ensure that no one got up to any funny business while this night of merriment carried on.
Fanciful clothes swayed to the music played by the band, slow flows that accompanied the lovely ballad that filled the air. Elegant tunes that further highlighted the grand atmosphere of the evening.
Even amidst all the communication and the activity that surrounded the main floor of the home, there remained a wallflower, which was Lord Cameron Reid himself.
He hated to admit that he was staring yet here he was, unable to remove his violet eyes from your form. You were stunning in your fancy attire, hair styled neatly, looking wonderfully remarkable in every sense of the word. He feared taking a moment to glance away from you, as though you would disappear into the crowd if he did.
It had been ages since he last felt romantic but somehow just looking at you was ticking the boxes.
He couldn't just stand by the whole evening, especially when he saw others chat with you- he worried that they might sweep you off your feet before he even had a chance.
Then, you looked his way. Your eyes met and he swore that he felt his heart do a flip when you sent him a polite smile. You really were so attractive and your warm expression further captured his heart.
Cameron knew that if he wanted to take the chance to enjoy this evening, he had to find the courage to approach you. Sharp vampiric fangs grazed the inside of his bottom lip, biting enough to induce pressure but not enough to draw blood.
This lasted only a moment before he breathed in deep and took that first step. He was approaching you at last, his tall figure towered over yours as he grew closer. He would lean down though and outstretch his hand to you, inviting you to take it.
Finally, the regal and albeit slightly embarrassed elder vampire asked "Would you care to dance?"
Still holding your earlier smile, you took his hand, callous to the touch. The grin on your face was less of a kind gesture now and more genuine. The hand- regardless of its rough touch- was so gentle with how it held yours.
He had little reason to care for a stranger, yet here he was. He found you in his good graces and in his interest.
The music would continue as he lead the dance, a simple waltz. The chords struck just right to every taken step taken by your neat shoes, a lovely theme that played together in synchronized harmony.
It was hard not to find joy in this moment. The light in each other's eyes, the shine off of each other's hair, and that smile on Cameron's face was a new sight. His fangs didn't peek from between his teeth, but his smile had still shone through his thick facial hair. It was enamoring to bear witness to.
Everyone that laid eyes on Cameron usually saw the same stoic expression, or if not that then they'd see a flicker of things such as annoyance or amusement or otherwise- but this? This was pure joy.
He was allowing himself to get caught up in the moment and enjoy himself. One of his hands holding yours, the other on your side, enjoying your company- your very presence was so comfortable.
"You're very lovely." Finally, Cameron broke the silence. "From the moment you walked in, you had me captivated."
"Oh?" You asked with a laugh of flattery. "I just wanted to look my best for the occasion."
"You've succeeded, I'll say."
Step by step the slow dance continued, the melody accompanying every move made.
"I want to introduce myself to you formally, I'm Cameron Reid."
"[Y/N] [L/N]. A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Reid."
"Cameron will do just fine, no need for formalities."
The dance grew more bold, evolving from just a waltz to something with a bit more pizzazz to it. You did a small spin while still holding to Cameron's hand then returned to his embrace, where the two of you circled each other on the dance floor- it was practically akin to a dance of courtship, one that so natural and ethereal in the moment that one could get lost in it.
Though there wasn't much talking, there was chemistry that filled the atmosphere. An undeniable bond that began to strew you two together like the fates had intended to happen all along.
Slowly, the dance came to a halt, with the two of you locking eyes once again. There was pure elation on your faces, joy in the air... and just one question.
Cameron asking "Would you care to go again?"
