The blonde probably surprised them both when she laid down next to the brunette & wrapped her arms around the petite woman. Emma said nothing else, just pressed her face against the back of the woman’s shoulder & laid their quietly; after all she knew the stress this woman held.

Lisa could hardly believe that Emma had complied. Not because she wasn't the caring type, but in the time that she had known her she hadn't been very good at offering non-verbal comfort. It was strange. Good...but strange. Settling back against the other woman she let out a slow breath as tears began to prick her eyes. She hadn't realized just how much tension she had been carrying, but it seemed the moment she felt the warmth of another body the strength she had managed to keep instaneously fell away leavin the rawness she felt."

& that was Emma’s best attempt at offering to stay.

"Unless you agree to just come hold me and don't utter a word." She was tired of talking. That was all she had done all day and less than half of the people she spoke to weren't really listening. It was exhausting being ignored all day.
