Cardiff Festival Honours Adda with '5' nominations
The year continues to get better and better for Adda Films as the Cardiff Mini Film Festival has shortlisted three of our films with five nominations at the awards that will take place on June the 23rd.
The festival based in the capital awards films that have produced big ideas on micro budgets and they have shortlisted Luck for Best Factual and the RTS award winning film Long I Stood There in the Best Narrative category, which was judged by Being Human, Ashes to Ashes and Downton Abbey director Philip John (Above far left at the last CMFF).
Also shortlisted with three nominations was the award winning Welsh language drama NOT which received not only a Best Welsh Language nomination but also two acting nominations for its child stars, Ceri Williams and Annabel Evans. This makes it two in a row for Ceri who has already been nominated before going on to win for her performance in the dark social drama.
We congratulate everyone involved with these films for their creativity and hard work and we wish them and the films the best of luck.

Make ours a double
Documentary films Luck and Amomynus have both been shortlisted at the Fuse Film Festival which is taking place in Manchester on Sunday the 12th of May 2013.
This is yet another welcome nomination for Luck but it is the first for John Evans' animated short documentary about a homeless man surviving in a harsh drug fuelled environment. Amomynus was originally planned to be a live Ob Doc but fears from the films anonymous participant meant that John had to either abandon the production or come up with a quick idea.
Director John said of the film ' It was extremely challenging to be in that environment for just over a day, but to him, well it's his life. It had to be told'. John who had to protect the identity and wishes of his participant suggested that the film should be animated, suggesting rotoscoping the footage and making it a little bit dirty and urban.
We wish John and the crews good luck for Sunday.
'It was such a sad experience for me. He spoke with such passion and remorse, and about better parts of his life, I can only hope that we captured something about this man's truly amazing and painful life' - John Evans

Our new documentary film which is currently in production explores domestic abuse through the lives of those who have been victims of violence, sexual assault and psychological torture by someone who said I love you.
We have been given unprecedented access to the support workers, a protective refuge, and the victims of domestic abuse to make our film.
In the unique environment of a women’s refuge four victims whose ages range from 19 to 60 will discuss what it is to live in a abusive home and suffer physical, psychological, emotional and sexual abuse.
Domestic abuse accounts for 54% of UK rapes and one quarter of all violent offenses, of which 1 in 4 women will suffer from it and 2 a week will die because of it. Domestic abuse is the crime we just do not talk about. We hope this film will start the conversation.
Producing and directing is John Evans who has brought back together Sion Griffiths, Ali Brabbs and Dave Clarke, the award wining production team of Long I Stood There and NOT to make this film.
And so it begins. Pre-production officially starts on The Life and Death of a Dandelion Seed.
