FUNNY MAN (DEMO)
This is song 1 of 4 in the set I challenged myself to compose and release by December 11th, 2023.
This one is a concept I made back in October 2022. I wanted to start with it as a warm-up piece to this challenge, and to polish the concept I left.
I want to revisit this piece in the future. Until then, take this dinky instrumental.

I do not like to post on the weekends
Hi No art today (most likely), I need to get 3 videos finished by 2 pm (its 12 rn) and I'm 1 from done. Sometimes it be like that
FLASHPOINT - DESTROYED
This is an album cover I was commissioned to do by a punk-artist and longtime friend of mine, Nick De Leon, for his independent music project and band, Flash Point. (Here's a link to their Spotify, and Instagram) Nick stated in our meetings about this that he wanted it to be black and white only with a heavy emphasis on line art/pen and ink, and have it be derivative of the DRI: Dirty Rotten LP / Violent Pacification cover art (pictured here)
Here's the breakdown of how I made this thing:
To start, I imported a posable Skeleton, combat knife, and M16 OBJ into blender for reference. My experience with drawing boney folk is limited, so I knew I'd need some help.
Then, I drew a sketch of this skeledude on paper, added some tattered army greens to him, then transferred it digitally. I went onto pexels.com and found an image I liked that had smoke, and added a screen tone effect to it! (This would help me shade the smoke later)
After that came line-art and shading. The client said he only wanted 2 colors on this album art, so I had to really flex my damn ol' noggin to get the textures right for the clothes, the bone, and most importantly the metal (which was the hardest, yet most rewarding part of this entire piece) I already tend to work in a pretty limited color palette, but I don't really do black and white, flat out stuff like this. Which means I really had to make it sing for it to work, and luckily I was able to! The band loved this image when I showed it to them, and were super pumped about it
Next came volume shading. I ended up using a technique I saw watching an animation documentary to help me distinguish the shading of the smoke, red being where the hatching will be the heaviest and green being a lightly hatched area. This ended up saving me a lot of time and multiple headaches
And yeah, that's it!
Overall I'd say this is one of my most favorite pieces I've ever done. The band uses it for their posters, flyers, their profile pictures, and so on and so forth. It was cool (and pretty meta) to see it on flyers in bars and restaurants around the city I live in. This project also helped me realize that working for myself as an independent artist is something I want to pursue. This was literally a case of me making art for someone else who also makes art. That is so cool in my opinion. Because of this commission, I was able to land art gigs with other artists and bands. I've been taking it slow since the end of 2023, but I'm excited to start making more new art, music, and things in the future.
Thank you for reading through my scatterbrained-ass post! I hope you enjoyed!

MONEY TREE
Another post I did for Badtober. The prompt for days 9 and 10 were "MONEY" and "tree, good" With this one I really wanted to get see if I could replicate the watercolor storybook aesthetic of the old "Generation 1" Pokemon art by Ken Sugimori. I've always looked up to the art he created. As I kid, I would trace his art on wax-paper, along with other art by people I respected (Akira Toriyama, Tetsuya Nomura, etc)
I guess this in a way I'm still doing that with this piece, and with the things I create. I'm a product of the art that has influenced me. If I didn't trace their art when I was a snot nosed brat, I'm not sure I would've taken the initiative to make my own original creations later on in life I hope with this I was able to capture that serene calm energy found in the old art of Ken Sugimori
This blog has existed for over 9 years, and the reason I stayed away from it as long as I have is very simple:
I lost my login information.

Hey, just a thought, could people maybe start using AI to destroy the Oil and Natural gas industries instead of the creative industry? There's a bigger picture.
Please.

Here's a collaboration piece I did with my girlfriend. We made this at an expressionism art museum after browsing for an hour. We used crayons and pastels.

Girl Dinner - A Perfect Fish for Flesh.png
This was one of my 4 submission for an inktober-like challenge called Badtober, fronted by Instagram user flesh.png The prompt for this was a mixture of 2. Those being Girl Dinner and 1 Perfect Fish for flesh.png I'm not an animator by trade, I've never had any proper education, but I have always had an interest in the medium. I really wanted to invoke a style similar to Tatsuki Fujimoto, the artist behind Chainsaw Man, which was pretty popular at the time that I made this I'm proud of this piece. There are parts that I'm not too keen about, but also, this was primarily drawn and animated on my phone, so I try to take it with a grain of salt.
Concrete Staircase (DEMO)
(Trigger warning: I talk about some of the abuse I went through as a child, so just a heads up) This is one of the singles I produced in late 2023, as a self imposed challenge to make and release 4 songs by the end of the year. It was originally posted to my Soundcloud on December 31st, 2023. There was a lot of physical and sexual abuse I endured as a developing child on behalf of my blood-related father. I won't go into detail, but it was pretty bad. I never truly got to experience what most people would call a childhood, thanks to my traumatic upbringing. Because of this, I ended up lashing out in my adolescence at the people who cared about me. I internally viewed it as me fighting back against the world that put me through what I did, but I ended up hurting a number of my friends and family in the process. So many relationships with people I cared about ended prematurely because of my actions. I regret so much, and I can never take anything I did or said back.
That is what this song is about.
I intend to add lyrics at some point soon. Until then, let me know what you think. Thanks.
