When he wakes up, he doesn’t know quite what to expect. It feels like forever since he’s last seen anything but fog for months on end, yet his phone reads differently when in fact it’s been just a mere 9 hours since last time he’d checked.
Hasn’t it been years? I wasn’t...haven’t...been here..
At the foot of his bed, the cat meows as per usual for something to eat.
So was it really just a dream? Alec sits up and peers down at his hands and examines them in the growing light that peers into the windows. He blinks once and instantly the sunlight showers the walls, swaying here and there as his fingers twitch. So at least that part of him remains the same.
The last thing he remembers is a fall. It was backwards, he’d landed on the floor with a shrill ringing in his ears before it’d all become quiet. It was as if he’d been dragged underneath the surface of an open ocean, but even then it wasn’t as though he could bring himself to panic enough to figure a way out. Then came that very fog he’d found himself trapped in, and finally that voice.
Professor, was it you?
He waits but to no avail. Seeing as it’s been several years since he’d since last seen the other man, it comes of no surprise to him when the other end of the channel presents a dead end. It was highly unlikely that they were still alive, anyway. But the pound of that voice he’d heard in his head- it was more clear, as if there was no empty space or rift separating them. One between the living and the dead.
The possibility should be troubling but instead he can’t help but sit back in surprise.
Was I dead? How’d I even find a way to-
A lot of questions come to mind, none of which he can answer. The cat meows again and he snaps out of it long enough to make it onto his feet. Maybe he’s a little relieved to not have to go through another existentially damaging experience for the first time in awhile- it hasn’t even been that long since his move to the city and the people he’s meet thus far have been good to him. Even the remote thought of having to uproot again leaves a bitter taste in his mouth.
It’s something he knows he’ll have to get to the bottom of sometime but for now, there are other tasks he needs to start thinking about it. Everyday tasks- the simple aspects of life that allow him to feel a little more human. So it begins again.

i hope this is the last flippin ooc post gosh darnit i’m sorry.
bad news: i think my rp career is coming to a close.
good news: college is awesome. building new relationships is awesome. i’m doing things i genuinely love now.
but that’s not to say i don’t love what i do(did) here. i did the same thing; i wrote, which is something that i love. i met new people, wrote with them, became inspired by their ideas and muses.
i’ve thought about it during the weeks i’ve been gone and i think...i’m going to choose to move on now. this sounds like some philosophical shit but for real, this new part of my life is beginning and i’m struggling to envision krp as a part of it anymore. i have one last conclusion for alec in the works and i hope it will give him the same sense of peace that i have now in starting anew. he was my first oc muse, my little baby. he deserves some closure, his own signature marvel ending that appears after the credits are done rolling.
this isn’t the end forever but for now, it’s farewell! i’ll be hitting some of you up in the im’s so we can stay in touch.
