Aktaios
Aktaios is a figure in Greek mythology . He is considered the mythical primordial king of Attica.
After Pausanias , Actaius was the first king of Attica or the successor of Porphyrion . He was the father Aglauros ' and' father Cecrops I. Attica was for him first file or Aktaia called before the name of Kekrops in Kekropia was changed. The peninsula on which Piraeus was located was still called that in historical times . Since Aktaios had no sons, his son-in-law Kekrops I became king of Attica.
As with almost all people in Greek mythology, there are also various traditions about Aktaios. According to Pherecytes of Athens , a later Actaios of Glauke , who was originally thought to be the daughter of Cychreus , is the father of Telamon , who was the local hero of Salamis . This was intended to underpin Athens' claim to salamis.
Aktaios was killed together with his brother Heloros by Ajax in the course of the clashes between Greeks and Trojans. The brothers were allied with Telephos , who in turn supported the Trojans.
Cecrops
hybrid Cécrops (2, 555). Cécrops is here called "hybrid" (in Latin geminus "double"), because the upper part of his body was that of a man and the lower part of that of a snake. He had for wife Aglauros, daughter of Actaios, and for daughters Hersé, Pandrosos and Aglauros II (2, 559).
Actaios
According to the legend, even Actaios and the Dioscouri tutored near Cheiron.
The Greeks narrated that Actaios was taught by the wise teacher, the art of hunting. He became an excellent hunter and spent his days in the forests. Fate, however hid a tragic end to the beautiful, brave and fearless young man.
One day Actaios was hunting in the evergreen forests of Pelion, near the fountain Parthenios. There he saw the Great Goddess Artemis bathing naked in the company of the Nymphs. Her beauty dazzled the young person, who remained in place ecstatic. When the Virgin Goddess saw him she became furious with anger, and her curse and rage fell heavily on the unfortunate young man. Actaios transformed into a deer, which was eaten up by his own dogs. The dogs cried frantically, arriving at the cave of Cheiron, seeking their master. Cheiron, sad for the unfair loss, made a statue of Aktaios and that settled down the dogs. //Acteon//
