This adventure from @slaxsonmtb sounded so epic we wanted to share... “Top-5 of ‘18, No. 3: that Summer Solstice tomfoolery with Prof. Logan Wetzel and Donny ‘The Don’ Allison. We met at 4:20AM at a 24-hr McDonalds on Bellingham’s strip of funk and ordered an egg McMuffin, hashbrowns and a coffee from the drive-thru (which was @stephen_ettinger ‘s idea), except for Donny, who was nervous cause we were gonna ride over 💯 milesz Then we pedaled around from snack stash to snack stash from sun-up to sun-down on the longest day of the year, rode lots of gnarly trail on semi slicks and climbed a mountain, then made it back in time for the solstice party at the top of Galbraith. This just in from @dylanwolsky, our pal up north: As an Aussie, the first few years riding in Canada were a good learning curve. I always had that “she’ll be right” attitude when I rocked up for a ride in the wet winter months well underdressed for the conditions. After plenty of hypothermic moments and the odd couple of times my hands were that frozen I couldn’t turn the key to open the house door returning from a ride, I think I have come a long way in dressing appropriately 😂. My current two favourite pieces of gear for cold wet weather riding at the moment are @missionworkshop Meridian alpine jacket and @girocycling Neo Blaze neoprene gloves that keep my hands warm when everything else fails. In saying that I still ride in shorts so some things never change.. 🤷🏽‍♂️ // http://bit.ly/2EVpgo1
