“At the end of an Atlantic crossing, we were excited to reach New York, and I got up at 6am on September 10, 2001, to snap some pictures from the top deck as we approached Manhattan. The twin towers made a compelling sight, poking out above the clouds. I later wondered what would have happened if the clouds had been there the day after.
