my qualifications for this are: i like the thunder legion and also sharks
laxus is a horn shark. they're typically solitary predators with few groups of them recorded (him almost never going on jobs with the thunder legion), and they have favored caves they hide in (kardia cathedral). horn sharks prefer warm temperatures (dragon) and have the highest known bite force relative to its size compared to other sharks (dragon). they draw their prey into their mouths before trapping and eating them (him making everyone come to kardia cathedral to fight him, him sitting and waiting for his fight with natsu after tenrou).
bickslow is a cookie cutter shark!! freaky little sneaky little guys. rarely encountered by humans (not being in the guild much, wearing his gay little mask), often travel in schools (his babies, the thunder legion), this is my favorite shark (bix is my favorite freak). "cookie cutter" coming from the way they feed on larger, dead animals by biting into them and cutting out spots.
evergreen is a dogfish shark! while technically separate species, both the spiny dogfish and pacific spiny dogfish work. they're known to hunt in groups (thunder legion) and are aggressive carnivorous bottom dwellers (going off the battle of fairy tail). the "spiny" in their name comes from the thorny, venomous spines in front of their dorsal fins, which they use to attack predators (stone eyes). they have few predators because of this.
freed is a shortfin mako shark! mako sharks use countershading as camouflage, so their top halves are dark while their bottoms are light (his freaky demon magic). shortfin makos are the fastest sharks in the ocean, both in movement and learning (i am entirely going off of that one scene where laxus and freed are in the sewers and freed has like maybe 2 seconds to write his runes to keep laxus' magic inside).
