i cannot talk for their asoiaf or their other works, but it is very clear they plagiarized my own work and @theseinfernalangels work.

this is not a witch hunt. pls do not attack this author. i simply do not wish for them to have a platform or support on a work that is clearly, heavily plagiarized word for word on many occasions.

i debated on exposing the name, but after realizing it goes beyond me, i decided calling them out is the best course of action.

both of the original works were posted before the copied work.

both original works do have similar themes and tropes, however, both are original and do NOT copy each other word for word. that is how inspiration or similar ideas work.

that is NOT how the copied work is.

plagiarism is extremely harmful, and can make those who write not want to write.

this entire incident has made me unmotivated to continue writing not only the plagiarized work, but also my other original works.

the ideas and prose they stole are near and dear to my heart, including the passed away mother’s leathers and the emotional core behind it because my own mother passed away. the healer to rider arc is near and dear to my heart because i am a nurse and i wondered how someone who only wanted to heal was forced to become something they never thought they’d be. i wanted to explore that.

i’m not claiming rights to those emotional cores or engines, but there is a clear reason why i wrote them and blatantly copying it and simply inserting it in without the emotional core behind the why feels extremely wrong to me.

In the screenshots below, the first excerpts are from my fanfiction, However Long I Stay, on AO3. HLIS is an original story about Kora Callahan, a rider who originally wanted to become a healer. The first chapter was posted on 7/11/25. The second screenshots are from sweet_scarlett_angel on AO3. Her fic, We'll Be a Fine Line, was originally posted on 11/24/25.

Again, my story is the first in the side-by-sides. Hers is in the second set.

These aren't even all the screenshots. I think you can get the gist from these, though.

Now, I'll add this in because I'm not a hypocrite: I did give her explicit permission to take inspiration from a SINGLE SCENE of HLIS (shown below):

However, this only accounts for one scene. And, by the way, 'inspiration' means that the concept remains similar, not the exact wording with a few varied words.

Giving me 'credit' at the end of a chapter also does not mean anything when the wording is copy-and-pasted directly from my own writing.

"Definitely inspired," is a strange way of saying, "plagiarized."

More than anything, I am disappointed. We have spoken before, and she seemed very kind. However, the blatant copying between both mine and @unfoldedxo's works is unacceptable. Sad to see that this went on during my writing hiatus. It's making me think twice about continuing HLIS.

I'm not sure how to move forward from here, but here's what I'll say: Please do not interact with me in the future, sweetscarlettangel. I am blocking you on both platforms, and I encourage my followers to report her fic (though, please don't attack her. I am against bullying of any kind.)

mind you, she never reached out to me about inspiration for her fic. of course, this would go beyond simple inspiration.

Stuff like this always makes me remember how sensationalized the ​“hide your kids, hide your wife” video was, also known as the “bedroom intruder meme” 🗿.

I even go so far as to feel a way about how Kandi Burress "the lies" gifs used, considering that she was in the midst of learning that her friend had been saying that she was trying to sexually assault someone.

We were a part of this. Black people online did use gifs and memes to express ourselves in such masterful ways that everyone else tries (and often fail) at using them and they become something mainstream and misappropriated.

When we do it, it is often in the spirit of what we've done for most of my life, at least, where we actually laugh about our pain, and we use humor for really horrific things in our communities. One day, everybody decided that they were a part. So, any image of a Black person became the face of everybody's "humor" and representing everyone's "feelings," when the image is often not even expressing the feeling that the meme is.
