My favorite heaadcanon is that Obi-Wan is so unforgivably annoying, that not even Yoda can deal with his ass. That's why literally all of his hookups are hookups, besides his weird protestant christian guilt, is also because no one can stand him for more than a night.

There were exactly TWO (2) people who could put up with him for more than a week, and they were Qui-Gon Jinn and Anakin, who Obi-Wan constantly compares to Qui-Gon Jinn, and i think is because he realizes Anakin is somehow not annoyed at him.

That's Obi-Wan's tragedy, THE ONLY ALIVE PERSON that isn't annoyed by his presence, is murder cyborg over there.

How an outfit of an apprentice represents their teacher.

1. The girls' outfits look like they are meant for children who like to play in a garden, get dirty and are very active. It really shows how Qifrey views a proper childhood. They are shorter, made out of less fancy looking but probably more durable material.

Euini's outfit doesn't look very comfy, nor like it's meant for a child. It looks like he is supposed to be still, focus on study and represent Kukrow well among other witches in the Great Hall.

2. Qifrey's apprentices are not just little copies of him. Yes, he made sure that this familiar teacher-apprentice bond, that is so important to witches, is visible in their clothing. What's more, the blue capes not only reference Qifrey, but also other members of his "witch family" - Olruggio and Beldaruit. Still, they are not just small copies, his students are his own people.

Or, hear me out:

He teaches the girls the way he was taught as a child.

Beldaruit loves big, showy magic. He enjoys magic that inspires wonder— still maintains a childish sense of joy even in his old age.

Meanwhile, Qifrey teaches Coco of a "gentler sort of magic", after giving her the rundown on what sorts of magic are forbidden. To me, this feels exactly like the sort of thing Beldaruit would say.

Imagine Qifrey quoting Beldaruit to Coco. Not even quite realizing what he's doing it. She's just so much like him, he slips into Beldaruit's shoes even more with her than the other apprentices.

But she's different from him. Untouched by the silverwood. Softness can't hurt her the way it can hurt him. Same goes for all four of his girls.

Qifrey would not isolate himself from Beldaruit if it was an issue of discomfort. The silverwood impacts every single one of his decisions, and the decision of where to live was most definitely included in that.

To me, Qifrey's estrangement from Beldaruit is twofold.

Bel too good of a mentor. He is observant, kindc passionate and eager to teach. All traits that qifrey shares; all traits that would be extremely useful and good with any student that's not a silverwood host.

Beldaruit would almost definitely figure it out simultaneously to Olruggio. Anyone at the great hall might. And then Qifrey would have to erase their memory, and he'd hate that.
