SIGNATURE

A lack of activity has most likely been noted by followers of this blog. 

The typist has become extremely busy, and within the next week is returning to university, which will definitely take a toll on the activity here and on all three accounts belonging to this typist (i.e. @acebaek, @anhyuns and @heliaeth). As of now, all three blogs will be put on a temporary semi-hiatus (sporadic activity, where replies may be done every week or so), however may approach a full-hiatus (extremely scarce or no replies?) as the school year progresses. 

Apologies to anyone interacting with the muse(s) on either accounts, but we do hope to continue writing with you upon return and hope you feel the same, whenever that may be. 

“I think, today, she’ll need to find the time to speak to you. The café’s extraordinarily busy today.” She smiled, a part of her feeling relieved that this small place was finally seeing better days. Hyemi remembered days where she had been one of the handful of customers who stopped by for a coffee after work or a hot chocolate while working on her assignments for university, but she felt no need to let a stranger know how close to bankruptcy this establishment must have been.

“She reminds me of my grandmother.” Liar. Hyemi didn’t remember her grandmother, wasn’t even sure if she’d ever met her but if, in another life, she could choose her family and reconstruct something she’d lost as a child, then she would want this woman to be her grandmother: but explaining this to someone who didn’t know her would take too much time and drain Hyemi, and she didn’t feel like leaving this café with sadness looming over her.

A small chuckle of amusement left his lips, and he actually lets it colour his visage with the satisfaction of laughing, for once. “I intend on coming back another day to speak to her, actually,” he told her, “Today definitely doesn’t look like a good day to do so. I do hope that business continues to be this bright for a nice place like this, though.”

“That’s correct,” he confirmed with a smile towards the girl——and then there’s a quiet laugh that falls from his lips and he shook his head, “No, I’m not from the States,” he answered, “Born and raised in South Korea, but somehow I find myself with a foreign name.” He doesn’t expand on the fact that it’s simply a nickname——that’s a little too much information for an initial meeting.

it’s genuinely in the interests of advancing plot (e.g. ‘Pass the screwdriver?’ and you can assume my muse passes the screwdriver over, or even just that your muse ended up with the screwdriver one way or another, without having to stop the reply altogether for my interjection)

it’s REASONABLE for my muse (e.g. if they’ve already made it quite clear the screwdriver is a sentimentally precious family heirloom or something, then the screwdriver might not reasonably change hands)

the reply isn’t solely about my muse’s actions, thoughts or feelings, but rather is about your muse, with reference to mine

you are willing to accept criticism & critique and change the reply if I can’t reasonably see my muse doing that

“It doesn’t sound dramatic.” She reassures him, the smile not faltering the slightest bit. “It sounds like someone who’s looking for a place to come home to.” A pause, and suddenly, Hyemi loses her confidence to say much more. Possessing the tendency to cross the invisible lines, mostly drawn by strangers, she feels little to no need to dig deeper in places where hurt, pain and bad memories may linger, so she chooses to change the topic for the moment.

“I wouldn’t say I do and even if I did, I’d still keep that knowledge to myself.” The brunette lowers her voice before looking over to the elderly woman who owns the shop, prior to a furtive gleam presenting itself in a pair of dark hues when she looks back to the stranger. “You should ask her. She’s the owner, and she’s very happy when people ask her about the history of her small establishment. I’m sure she’ll tell you everything you have to know.”

Despite words being exchanged and the stranger seeming to be much less of a threat than she had initially thought him to be, Hyemi still couldn’t help but wonder what his reason was. Maybe someday, she’d figure it out. “A fair warning: the people who come here usually know each other. You’re bound to introduce yourself.”

A smile from a stranger somehow feels more comforting than half the smiles he’s seen grace the visages of people he thought he could call friends. His own lips press into a wistful smile that speaks more than he would dare, “I guess you could put it just like that, and you’d be correct,” he answered, but says no more on the topic. Approaching someone without his overbearing confident exterior------it reminds him of years when he didn’t need any of that; it’s somehow nice, but he knows he can’t do it with everyone.

“I’ll have to find time to speak to her, then,” he remarked. He’s always been fond of befriending the elderly. It reminded him of kinder years of his life when wisdom was spoken to him in soft reassuring words, “She looks like a lovely woman. Someone one could learn a lot from.”

He knows he shouldn’t be too trusting to strangers, but he could take another chance------how bad could it be, compared to the past?
