can animals also cherish the joy of creation?
do birds enjoy their own singing for the sake of it?
do beavers have fun building their dams?
does a spider gleefuly smiles (or the arachnid equivalent of it!) at her newly-rebuilt web?
geniune question.
As a matter of fact, they should be able to.
Since most of their behavior is governed by instinct and dopamine release, whatever spider feels after finishing a web should be similar to the feeling of accomplishment and pleasure a human may get from finishing an important task. Unfortunately I cannot cite anything on the topic, neither am I a biologist by training.
