woke up and headed straight to my favorite coffee shop – i'm hopelessly behind on at least half a dozen things, but this orange oatmilk mocha makes it all seem a bit less dire.

my plastic surgery exam went great, the lock-in was very successful hahah i got a 90/100
i also had a MCQ exam on urology that was pretty hard, but i'll pass it for sure
only one more exam to go, orthopedics, and then a week-long break
i don't know what to expect from the second semester when we'll start the rotations on cardiology, pulmonology, radiology and nephro, but i'm really curious about it, hopefully the doctors will be happy to teach us everything they can during our time on the wards (:
Day 12-13/18 (22 + 23rd of january)
took some time off from plastic surgery to focus on my general surgery exam, or better said to switch between the two. it was the perfect time to start using this whiteboard my friend got me for my birthday. :)

Day 3/18: took some notes on the upper limb nerve anatomy, played a lot of binary puzzles and started reading a book :)

Day 1/18: I studied 2 hours, but I still hate surgery & clinical specialties. Can't drop out tho, I wanna be a pathologist or a lab rat.
in 18 days i’ll take my plastic surgery exam, the most difficult of this semester.
no MCQs, no past papers, no clinical questions, just talking with the prof, my least favourite type of examination.
i have anatomy to revise and a lot of subjects to learn.
i’ll try to post more, to keep myself accountable, because i really want to pass all exams this year. :)

ever since i started uni, i knew i wanted to be as honest as i can on this blog. today's post - i went outside to study for physiopathology, because i failed it. i could've done better, my teachers could've done better. that's it. this summer i had plans to get into the basics and not-so-basics (like, clinical cases and stuff) of histology and histopathology. unfortunately, i have to study.
however, i prefer seeing the bright side (some would call me strong, i would call myself delulu). this is my chance to get better at the subject. it's a topic that i'll meet a lot from now on, so i really need to understand it as soon as possible. i can work at my own pace, i'm free (as in, i don't have classes to go to and i'm blessed to not have to work), and i already have a headstart, since it's not the first time seeing the material.
if you ever find yourself in this situation and need to retake an exam during summer/september, please make the most of it, go outside and don't waste your nights. i'm a night owl, so i tend to study until 1-2 a.m. and spend my day inside. it's summer, it's warm, but really going out is a game-changer. and if you're still stressed that you're not studying in that time, take your notes/tablet with you. listen to a youtube lesson on the topic, while watching the nature. but, if you have a park nearby, any green space, try to go out, even if it's for 30 minutes.

• campus cat that always lifts my mood
• the local library - i got a book, doesn't matter if it's exam season haha
• getting coffee with my friend to study at her place
i think this is the first exam season in 2½ years when i don't feel burnt out. i know it sounds cliché, but going out daily and changing your study space every once in a while helps you retain information better. i also noticed that i get stuff done much faster if i'm studying next to someone (or it's just undiagnosed adhd and i'm a sucker for body doubling) (i don't support self-diagnosing, to be clear) :))
take care of yourselves, don't study too much and drink your water!!!
