I donât know if youâre still active or sick of asks about it yet but, I have to know if you had even just scraps of a plot planned for the xiao fic? đ
Iâve pretty much accepted itâs never getting updated again but itâs been two years and it wonât leave my mind - I just loved the concept so much. All this to say, I want to try finishing the story (nothing like taking it over, just writing a personal progression of for my own closure lmao).
If you donât mind that, then if you remember anything at all about where you wanted to take it; the plot points, the pacing you were going for, things like that - I would feel better guided and like I might be doing it more justice than if I balled it going on nothing.
Of course thereâs the chance that there is nothing and thatâs perfectly good, this is really a hail mary tbh, everything to gain nothing to lose right? Thank you for blessing us all with your amazing writing nonetheless <3
I think I did? Iâm pretty sure I had the plot points written in my notes at one point, but I honestly canât remember because itâs been so long since I dipped my toes in the genshin fandom.
Iâd love to give you all the snippets I wrote and whatever arcs I planned, but I canât. Like, it is literally impossible because the phone I used to write in (yes, I wrote all of my fics in my notes app back then) got water damaged and basically never turned on again đ A good chunk of writing from various fandoms just gone, and I never saved to the cloud because Iâm an idiot lol. Lesson learned. I write in my laptop on google docs now.
But hereâs what I can tell you:
Shenhe was going to be an aunt-like figure to MC, and sheâs who MC goes to when she has questions regarding adepti stuff. Shenhe is the one who reveals Xiaoâs fondness for almond tofu, and the next day MC shows up to Wangshu Inn hollering about having an offering for an adeptus (which was supposed to happen in ch 3).
Xiao canât reconcile the respectable statue cleaning person in his head with⊠whatever MC has going on. He is, however, moved by her bribes of almond tofu and whatever food she makes. Despite how insane she is, MC did grow up with Xiangling and knows her way around the kitchen. Xiao tells her little things, like Rex Lapisâ favorite food, what he usually eats when walking around Liyue as a mortal. MC is excited to find out that stories about Morax parading as a mortal are true.
Xiao falls first and he falls HARD. In the period between them meeting and the Rite of Descension in the archon quest (which is about a year), Xiao and MC grow closer. He canât quite explain the feelings growing in his chest, the way he instinctively seeks out her presence and how something in him eases when he hears her laugh. Itâs maddening.
Meanwhile, MC is in denial about her growing crush on Xiao. Her monkey brain essentially goes: adeptus not cute, adeptus mean, adeptus like my food, hmm, adeptus kinda okay, umm, rex lapis better? yes, rex lapis better.
I was going to incorporate in-game events and slightly alter them to fit MC. Lumine basically imprints on MC when she first arrives at Liyue and they bond over archon quest stuff, while Xiao watches at a distance to make sure MC doesnât get herself killed.
Lumine and MC meet at Wangshu Inn, then MC takes it upon herself to tour Lumine across Liyue. Lumiâs weirded out by this chick who says sheâs going to propose to the local god at the Rite of Descension, but they eventually bond and Lumi soon finds herself vowing to help MC with her love life.
MC is absolutely devastated when Rex Lapis âdiesâ and tries hysterically to get to his exuvia. When sheâs blocked by the millelith, she starts accusing random people of assassinating him. She gets locked up when she starts threatening random NPCs with her pyro vision. Lumine hears of this and goes to break her out of prison, but Hu Taoâs already there paying for her bail.
Lumine, Hu Tao, and MC become a trio of besties, with Lumi and Tao initially helping MC get with Zhongli (Lumine is cracking up at MC unintentionally having a crush on the same person: Rex Lapis and Zhongli).
Lumine gets to know Xiao better as in canon, and she sees that he is pining HARD for MC, so she changes tactics. Lumine convinces Hu Tao that Xiao is the better choice for MC, so they set various events up to get them to realize their feelings for each other. Somehow Zhongli and the rest of the Liyue gang get roped into this.
The story was supposed to end at the Chasm archon quest. MC isnât gonna go into the Chasm with them, but sheâs with Zhongli (somehow) when he saves Xiao. MC and Xiao kinda confess after that near death experience for him, then some fluffy scenes to show them being an awkward couple together. Lumine and Hu Tao are cheering in the background (along with everyone else who witnessed the shitshow that is MC and Xiao dancing around each other). Ending scene Xiao and MC cleaning up one of Zhongliâs statues and being disgustingly in love. The End.
Itâs been years since I last played the archon quest, so if thereâs any inaccuracies, just ignore it đ€Ł All I have to say is, go crazy with this fic. Donât be afraid to let MC be stupid and insane with no boundaries whatsoever, because thatâs exactly why Xiao fell for her đ Have fun!!!
