i am not an expert in south america demography, but i can assure you that indigenous cultures are different from each other and even have different architecture.

beyond that there’s the famous colonialism where we have spanish, portuguese, french and even dutch people coming explore the continent and GUESS WHAT? they all have different architecture!

with the colonialism the black slavering process starts, so we have more ethnicity diverse people (with also different culture and architecture) being kidnaped from africa to here. 

by modern times we have a lot of other cultures arriving (with their different architectures), as the chinese, japanese, syrians, lebanese, italians, germans, jewish from all europe and a lot more like a basque people :) 

here is a text about europeans in south america and for you know 12,5 million africans came to america in a period of 200 years, so you can imagine the diversity in that group too.
