A Being

D E S O L A T E

What you see is what you get, how I am around you is what I let, everyone else see

Just a layer of me, never completely, who I am

Here comes the rant, here comes the fear: I’m afraid of people getting too near

Don’t come too close, don’t invest in me, no

The trauma is: I’ve let my guard down and welcomed everybody 

Not knowing that in the end, when I choose not to bend they 

They turn their backs and let out a laugh 

I reach out and shout, begging to hear me out 

Ready to apologize but they labeled it as a lie

I sob and cry, questioning the worth of my life 

R E L U C T A N T 

I’m hesitant to invest, hesitant to make a bet 

Hesitant to pick up the pieces and get out of bed

Don’t want to open the door, afraid of what could come or 

maybe I’m intimidated by the interior, I’m unsettled to the core

I devote myself to dance, I can express myself there, at last

But when an interest comes asking, I get my stuff and blast

Right out the door, I don’t want more, my feelings can’t handle

The constant battle between morality and faith, this I can’t ignore

I N T R O D U C T O R Y 

It was in the middle of summer. The wind was cool and the temperature was bearable. The agenda of the day was to finish the revisions before lunch and have the rest of the day for eating (accompanied by the binge watching of the latest tv series). However, the hunger took over and completely flipped the agenda, placing slacking off first. 

Was regret present when the decision to eat and to binge watch was put first before productively working? At first, yes, but soon enough the regret was forgotten. At the savory smell of Supreme Nachos prepared by the locals, regret was out the window. 

Having to place the body at ease and comfort before productive work seemed unusual. The thought of being too relaxed was up there disturbing the presence. Yet, when it was time for productive work, the output was completed in less than the expected time. Even the mindset during the process was not expected: focused and positive. 

A new learning: eating before work is good. 

How about eating while working, is it acceptable too? Would the results be the same? 

Final word, one must not allow the body to starve. The universe and the people around the individual might not be equipped with one who is hungry.
