       Well.  .   .she didn’t really give him a chance to figure out what he wanted to plant exactly ( but also a good thing since he didn’t really have anything in particular he wanted to plant anyways ), he had tons of fun letting the sun graciously see the work of the poppys. Link was all for getting his green thumb back today too.

She had half-forgotten that Lin had even been there before the other spoke up. There weren’t many people that Ilia was comfortable singing in front of, but the blond was one of the few that made that list. It was why she only smiled gently in response to her praise before laughing and shaking her head. 

The idea of singing in front of everyone in Castle Town was infinitely more terrifying.

“You’re just sayin’ that cause you’ve never heard someone with any actual talent sing before.” Slender fingers tugged at a few strands of grass before she tossed them towards Lin. It was hardly the firmest of throws nor where they the most aerodynamic of objects, resulting in most of them just... floating useless to the ground.

Midna didn’t miss the way Lin was struggling, but the twilight imp paid it no mind. Not even when she huffed and puffed and whined about having to work on pronouncing the alien words. In a rather shocking display of her own sense of patience, the imp also didn’t bat an eye at continuing to repeat it - slow, and forcefully enunciated. 

Why...?

Her cheeks puffed out for a moment as Midna mulled over the answer to that question. The mirror shards had almost all been collected, which meant the mirror would be restored soon, which meant-!

“... Twili are naturally peaceful creatures, but even I can’t predict what might happen when we go to the twilight realm. It can never hurt for you to know a few phrases to talk with them.”

“Are ya fuckin’ kiddin’ me”

She sighed almost dreamily, head moving to rest against the woman's shoulder. And speaking of... ever since leaving Karkariko village to begin their travel to the lanayru province, Lin had grown... silent. Sullen. 

"Are you excited? Only one more and you'll have kept on your end of the bargain." There was an almost sing-song lilt in the shadow's voice as she spoke.
