(aka, i dont trust Ren at all because recent behaviors have shown they just wanted fame/a fandom around themselves. NOT saying Zeal is a saint but certainly not deserving of being accused of a horrible crime, but i am generally on his side)

speaking of casualties unknown though, i got to layer three on my “first” official run (since i had played the game before it was on steam and then forgot i had it, so i consider it my first run for simplicity) before promptly dying to infection, starvation and depression :D

idk i find it odd that the tail seems to be immune to getting injured. maybe because it would already add more to deal with ON TOP of. literally everything else

unless im missing something about how their bodies work since im pretty new to the game/its universe

im also linking the lore doc im using for August since its the most up to date stuff for him (as far as im aware)

since i view the mod itself and the teased story mode as separate versions of our guy (i will talk about this in another post maybe), this focuses entire on the mc world version (aka he is in YOUR WORLD!!!!1!1!111!)

anyways, about August and snow/winter

for someone like him, i still think he would absolutely have moments where stuff actually gets to him. winter is when it gets worse, the snow and cold still makes the kid in the very back of his mind terrified of being thrown out into that again

he avoids the woods if he can normally, given how he is TALLLLL and would easily run into the branches and possibly get his hair tangled up, but come winter and snowfall, he avoids it like the plague

one would think this is silly, his darling is more easy to catch in the snow due to tracks and lack of cover. this is true but he cant bear to even glimpse a snowed-in wood

he is big and strong and very capable, especially since hes some flavor of shadow demon (?) that can just… leave the woods. but there is the thought that says he will surely die this time if he ventures out into the depths, where the branches are wicked and gnarled and the snow crunches under foot too loudly

i think this would in turn make him more possessive of his darling during winter, force them inside their home more, even locking them inside if he can. he cannot bear to find them out there, bloodied and half dead

aka, August, if his traumas were to spike up and force him into a spiral, would project it onto others around him. i think he also would’ve done this with Eleanor too, getting more cruel during the colder season

i think this also spreads to comparisons to his father. this one i can understand more but in the opposite direction (i LOATHE being compared to my mother, she doesnt even deserve the title), August in his mind would do all he can to not be like his father but he just perpetuates the cycle of abuse anyhow, given his actions
