    “I didn’t expect that you could.”

    Illumi’s voice was far away from him, words tumbling without him thinking about anything except a plan. Get Vylad to the hospital, make certain his leg will still be usable after it’s healed. Plan for if it cannot be used and needs removal.

    He turned his head, running through the ideas and city they had barely made it to, and tried to get a better look at the other’s shredded leg. Without a full stop, Illumi wouldn’t be able to tell exactly what was torn and exposed and wrecked, but if he were to guess, a tendon near his ankle had been ripped apart, and you could see his fibula. It was a horrific sight, and had Illumi been anyone else, he might’ve blown chunks right on the spot.

    It was worse than he’d initially thought.

    Soon, the pair reached the hospital’s emergency center, Illumi hardly slowing his pace and practically slamming open the double doors, getting everyone’s attention quickly.

    “This man’s been attacked, and his leg needs urgent care,” He called to a nearby nurse, who scrambled to get a gurney for Vylad to wheel him off somewhere in the hospital. Illumi wasn’t at all worried; they had made it to the hospital in time, so there shouldn’t be a chance for Vylad to die of his injury

    Upon seeing the absolute wonder in the shorter man’s eyes, Illumi decided that it really was a good idea to bring him along. He and Vylad stared in silence at the beautiful beetle’s desperate attempts to escape its glass prison, all of which failed even more spectacularly than the last.

    Illumi was almost unaware of how much time had passed since the insects’ entrapment, though part of him decided it had been at least twenty minutes.

    There was a bit of a sad note in his inky eyes when he took the jar from Vylad, opening it and releasing the beetle, which promptly turned to them, vvvvvvvvv’d in a tone as angry as a beetle could be, and flew off into the darkened sky.

[[ I cannot stand when someone puts all their effort into nice formatting, but their replies are soooo lackluster and boring that I don’t have anything at all to work with! Might as well be the writing equivalent of putting sparkles and glitter on dog shit. ]]
