Why are many cartoon characters yellow?

The color yellow is what all these characters have in common, it is interesting to know why television and movies use this color to create characters.

Cartoons are yellow for three main reasons:

Color Theory: On screen, the RGB color model is used for the primary colors of light. It is in this way that yellow contrasts perfectly with blue, the color of the sea and the sky.

Color Psychology: Yellow is associated with positive emotions such as happiness and enthusiasm; energy, dynamism and activity.
