Flower... Ghost likes that. It suits the little one, and it's a nice homage to their mother that they so resemble. And, come to think of it, their pale white carapace does remind Ghost of those Delicate Flowers. Even the hatchling seems to like the sound of it.

But then I thought about this precious baby once more, so I’m going to try and start posting again with at least some regularity! That being said, I am closing the ask box for now, just until I get these next few posts done and I clear the inbox.

What? Ghost is starting to wonder if they really should be listening to all these voices...

But, they’d be lying if they said they weren’t curious, too. What’s going on in their new sibling’s head? There’s only one way to find out.

They don’t know yet. It was Hornet that gave Ghost their own name, and Ghost has no idea what sort of name the new sibling should have. It should be something that suits them, but they just don’t know what would suit them yet.

Oh! They do have the White Lady’s eyes! That’s kind of surprising, but they’re lovely all the same. Maybe they should have a name that honors their mother? But she doesn’t have a proper name, either, as far as Ghost is aware... Hmm.

Well, uh... it seems pretty unanimous! Ghost should probably do something to help their new sibling.

They’re a little wary about the jagged edges of the broken shell hurting the hatchling if they try to pull them free through such a narrow gap, so they decide to widen the crack first. They reach to pull at the edges where the shell is cracked, and...

Whoa!

...It’s taking a while for this thing to come out... Were they wrong in assuming the being inside is able to hatch properly? Clearly it’s alive, but that shell looks pretty tough, and it hasn’t been able to break through yet.

That’s a very good question. They have no idea what it’s going to look like, at all. Assuming it is, in fact, a sibling, what will they look like without the void that is such an integral part of Ghost and all the rest of their siblings?

Will they look the same as themself, just without void? Or will they perhaps take more after their father, or their mother? There’s just no way of knowing until the egg actually hatches.

Who in the...? Is this part of their new abilities as a god? Hearing voices from beyond?

“Ghost” works fine. They don’t see the point in formalities. That aside, they are just as confused as you are. This egg reminds them of the one they hatched from ages ago, except much... brighter. But other than that, they have no idea what it could be, or how it got here.

Touching it? Truth be told, they’re a little nervous as to what might happen. Though, they suppose there wouldn’t be any harm in it, really. They reach out and...

Oh! It must be hatching!

There are so many questions in their head right now. If it is a sibling, somehow, why is it NOT in the Abyss? How did the egg survive this long? Why is it only now beginning to hatch?

The Ghost of Hallownest - newly christened as the Lord of Shades, they supposed, after ascending Godhome and defeating the Absolute Radiance - wanders the remnants of the kingdom searching for survivors, and to observe the state of things without the Old Light plaguing the land.

They notice pale roots in a place they had not noticed before. It captures their curiosity well enough that they decide to follow. A tangled mass of the glowing roots shifts and parts to reveal...
