yeah i def wouldn’t mind! i think if you’re from the EU it’s going to be much easier. and at least for me, nurses and doctors come under care worker visa so yeah that’s definitely going to have different application requirements than what i had

as for me, i did my application on the 19th of august, and did my biometrics on the 23rd of august. they told me i will hear something in 60 working days (since i didn’t pay for priority) so that is around 15th of november but im really hoping to hear something by the end of october. its not been a fun time waiting lol

rn the only update i have is that they sent me an email saying my application has reached home office and they think they can make a decision in time 🥲

it is exhausting, i agree but i think if you break it down into steps it would definitely be easier! so for me it was, step one - get marriage certificate, step two - fill application, etc etc and i just did it one at a time.

it depends on which country you’re in, tbh! so for eg india is a part of the global south (🙄) so i had to go through a whole Process!

i’m going on a spouse visa so the essential docs for those were the marriage certificate and my husband’s income (the threshold is 29k a year atm and unfortunately they don’t count your income for this, only your spouses). also other things like proving your relationship is real and not just visa fraud but those come under the optional category (even though they’re absolutely NOT)

now i did try to get work visa a few years ago but that was significantly harder because a lot of companies only sponsor on intermediate level jobs and up (at least in publishing which is what i work in), so if thats the route you want to take i suggest you do some research in your industry and see what job descriptions are saying about whether these jobs are open to foreign nationals or not

lastly the political climate in the uk is really bad atm. if it weren’t for my husband, i would very much reconsider my decision to live in the uk. if you happen to be a brown or black immigrant, people have been really fucking racist to us. so that’s definitely something you should consider as well!
