πLearning How to Learn
One thing I've realized is that learning and teaching don't have to happen separately.
This little Learning Guide is the framework I'll be using in future tutorials. Instead of simply sharing facts, I want each lesson to help us remember, connect ideas, and actually use what we learn. That's why every section has a purpose:
π Dive In - start with curiosity π The Big Wave - find the core idea πͺΈ Surface What You Already Know - connect with prior knowledge π Swim Through the Details - explore one concept at a time π¦ Tide Check - pause and retrieve π Deep Dive - understand the "why" π¬ See It in Action - apply it to real life π¦ Mix the Currents - compare similar ideas β Drop Anchor - keep the key takeaways π Pearl of Wisdom - don't miss the small but valuable insights π¬οΈ Current Alert - avoid common misconceptions π¦ Test the Waters - practice retrieval instead of rereading π Whale-Sized Challenge - transfer your learning to something new β΅ Sail Away - reflect before moving on
This structure is inspired by Make It Stick: The Science of Successful Learning by Peter C. Brown, Henry L. Roediger III, and Mark A. McDaniel, which explains that lasting learning comes from retrieval practice, elaboration, application, and embracing "desirable difficulties" rather than passive rereading.
My goal with Abiah Khen Learns isn't to be the expert in the room. It's to create a place where we can learn intentionally, think deeply, and grow together one lesson at a time. ππ
