5. When I first started the class my Klout score was 10 but then went as high as 44. My score has dropped a little bit since I started my Twitter and Tumblr account. The score I’m sitting at is a 38.88. When I went into Klout I saw that it wasn’t set up to Twitter. I think that if I had gotten more people to retweet my post my score would have gone up. I think that if I had done some more engaging post I may have had more retweets.

4. Since I created a Twitter account at the beginning of this course I have gained 17 followers. The only person I’m following besides my classmates is Sailor Jerry, so I guess alcohol.

3. What’s up everyone post. This was one of the first post I did to the class. I think this post was popular because our fellow classmates were excited to start the class and the tweet expressed that sentiment. I got a few likes on it and got me ready for the class. #KloutNEC https://twitter.com/Abbradfo85/status/844560546032762880

2. Daily show post. I didn’t get any likes or retweets on this post. I think I didn’t get any likes and retweets is because I didn’t have a hashtag on it. I think that because all of the people following me are classmates and I didn’t have the schools hashtag on it, it didn’t get any hits. #KloutNEC

1. I actually don’t see that I have a retweet. Sad to say. I guess none of my tweets have been interesting enough to retweet. I think that having more followers that are not fellow students may help me get more retweets. I know that a lot is going on in people’s lives so if it’s not required people probably won’t do it. #KloutNEC
Christiane Amanpour
I like her because she is a social immigrant. She came from a time where new was news and that's it. Now news is more of how many hits you can get. It has become The Network. News I sent concerned with facts as much as ratings. Christiane Amanpour seems to be pushing for the opposite trend. Her concern is the truth and only the truth.
Christiane Amanpour has 2220215 followers and I think she is savy in that she is considerate about why they she is famouse. She is famous for her tireless work on reporting the news. That has been and continues to be her focus. Even through the challenges of social media, she continues to make her main focus be on the truth. She could have a lot more followers if she was doing more basic personal post but that could make her lose her hardcore followers.
Christiane Amanpour most definitely promotes CNN. Since a lot of her work comes from CNN it makes since that she would push them. Most of her post either come from CNN or is directly connected to the news. It is a great way to promote her and and their shows. I think this helps her followers to know that they are following her for news. It is important for your followers to know you are keeping to your brand.
I think that Facebook is responsible in the same way a gun is responsible for killing a person. Facebook was meanly the conduit used to rig an election. I do think that there should have been more oversight in looking a false claim but ultimately its freedom of speech. Even though the speech is a lie it didn’t insight a riot, like screaming fire in a movie theater would. Even if Facebook took it down the second it went up a million people would have seen in and copied it and kept the story going.
The main take away I got for the extra reading was the fourth point; cabal news ratings went up. News has become nothing but a means to hold your attention. This last year’s election was nothing but attention. News has also become very partisan. Fox news hears a story that can hurt Hillary Clinton and they will run with it. The story will play over and over all day long even if they know it’s fake. The next morning they will simply say in one small, short statement; the statement we made was incorrect. A fiftieth of their views will see this and even more will ignore it. The fake news crazy took on even more of a life after Trump won. He won so he must be telling the truth and must be right, otherwise everyone that voted for his are lying and wrong. The president had made false claim after false claim and the media continues to cover it as though they are facts. The reason for this is because the crazy the store the more people tune in.
“OMG! AA Flight attendant violently took a stroller from a lady with her baby on my flight, hitting her and just missing the baby. Then he tried to fight a passenger who stood up for her. AA591 from SFO to DFW.”

This is starting to get out of hand. I’v seen people saying how the mother is over over reacting and it’s not a big deal. The fact is the woman was a customer and paid money. How would you like it if you went to a restaurant and got punch by the waitress and the manager of the store’s response it to just get over it. This is all so sad for everyone.

Mannequin Challenge
For this assignment, I chose the mannequin challenge. I also did the 22 push up challenge but felt that the mannequin challenge generated more followers and more people doing their own version of the challenge. While it's hard to say, who was the first person to do the challenge it's widely accepted that Dr. Dr's music video Kush back in 2010 is the first creation of what would become the worldwide phenomenon.
Like the Harlem shake tend the mannequin challenge needs more than just one of two people. The bigger the crowd of people participating the better the result. The challenge was started in 2016 and with in a few months thousands of people had posted their own version. The term mannequin challenge will garnish some 19.8 million results. The Harlem shake challenge will only come up with 14.2 million to compare the two. The usual song used for the challenge is Black Beatles by Rae Sremmurd. The artist famously did the challenge live during one of his concerts.
The HBO television show Westworld was the most popular and most talked about thing in t.v. during the rise of the mannequin challenges. The show is about a park where people interact with robots. The robots can be made frozen by saying one word. When said, word is uttered all the robots will freeze.
The idea of this only helped to fuel the trend. People have compared the challenge to films that have done similar shots in their film. Films like the Matrix and X-Men days of future past. The idea of the challenge has been around forever. I have always liked it when an actor is supposed to be dead but you can see their eyes move or see them breathing. The mannequin challenge does the same thing but on a much bigger level. All though the challenge has slowed down and is now considered old by social media standards it still has breathe.
The amounts of groups that have done the challenge is insane. Sports teams took the challenge to the next level. Some of the best videos coming out and being retweeted were coming from athletes. T.V. shows not to be out done, started doing their own mannequin challenge. Two of the better ones out there come from SNL and Ellen.
People strive to be like the ones they see on t.v. Once the athletes and actors in the silver screen started doing the challenge everyone else started following suit. All though the mannequin challenge didn't start as a way to raise money or awareness there are a number of cases where people have used the popularity of the trend to bring attention to any number of causes.

Adult Swim
I chose Adult Swim for my Tumblr post. Adultswim.com is nothing but engaging. They have a ton of video to watch, games to play and music. All of the content is theirs and it is constantly being updated. They even have a section that’s connected to Twitter. You interact with the site and then Tweet how it went or your score. With all of the interactivity and ability to share the experience I think this is a site that creates a ton of traffic and keeps people wanting to come back.
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is the perfect example of a show starting form nothing. When FX was starting to form as a network it created a contest. If a team could come up with an idea for a show and we like it, we’ll give you money to make the show. The three creators of the show got together all the ideas they could, along with actual t.v. adds for a show that wasn’t even on yet. The hard work paid off and the show was picked up by the network. They are now going into their 12th season.
The show has taken on a life of it’s own with the cast even preforming live plays based on episode along with having their own page though the FXnow app. http://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/its-always-sunny-in-philadelphia
Wanna tweet your favorite Sunny moments? http://alwayssunnyfxx.tumblr.com @alwayssunny allows fans to be part of the Sunny community and share all their favorite moments with fellow fans around the world.
Sunny started as an idea between three friends and now it has become the flagship of two separate network; FX and FXX. They are also pushing the limit on how they communicate with their fans and push for the success of the network which gave them a chance.
I am a ambivalent networker. I love being able to see the newest clips and movie trailers when they drop, but would just as happily throw it all away for a beach weekend of no technology. I have a phone to text and call people. I have a desktop for all the other stuff. Most people my age are at the bidding of their phone and all that it offers. I survived 25 years without all this crazy stuff and was just fine. The last five years or so have been insane. The world hasn’t changed as much as the way we view it. I’m just going to sit back and have a drink and watch the sun set, no selfie required.
