You’re not going to wake up and be “perfectly conscious” and never screw up. Every day you have to work at your consciousness. So try not to be so hard on yourself. When someone calls you out, try to remember that it’s ultimately for your benefit. Even though the experience can be embarrassing and painful. That person believes you can do better and you can. It’s not easy by a long shot, but it’s worth it.

Stop asking non black celebrities to come to the defence or use their platforms for black people! Stop getting distracted by people who don’t matter,don’t understand & don’t experience being black 24/7! I understand why people would be upset & think it’s important to ask but it’s really not. The last thing I’m thinking about when my fellow black people are dying is what the Kardashians or Bieber or whomever saying black people matter. It really doesn’t make a difference in my life whether they care or not and I don’t want their white pity.Let’s use this time to come together as a people to come out stronger & better than ever.
