Fun Fact:
If you’re wondering why I keep dissing technology on this blog, here’s why.
You see, when the world *cough* the west *cough* developed technology and digital design, they only did it for the English language.
For years, non-English languages like Urdu have been left out of the digital development because we weren’t supported on keyboards. And when keyboard support came along, there’s a lack of accessibility in the development of fonts in comparison to English.
Additionally, because the market is considered small in comparison to English, even local developers don’t really bother with this, and whichever projects are happening to help make Urdu and other non-English languages more accessible/expressive online/digitally are all labours of love by their respective creators.
I’ll be sharing some of those projects soon, so stay tuned!
