blurb: pt. 2 to uptown girl. john logan did not anticipate the spoiling he’d receive when he started dating a rich girl and the boys are suspicious about it
warnings: fluff, slightly ditzy rich girl!reader, featuring the hockey bros, crack, wholesome!!!
note: trying out a slightly diff layout so nervy
It only took a week into dating for Logan to learn that gift giving was your love language.
The only problem was that Logan wasn’t so fluent in this language in the same way that you so obviously were, despite being together for a month now.
“Guess who?”
Logan did not need to guess at all. Nobody else would come up to him and cover his eyes from behind and chirp that question in such a sweet tone.
He feigned a defeated sigh, “Awh man, I’m beat. I wonder who it is that smells so nice.”
A melodic giggle and then the hands were gone. Logan’s eyes fluttered open and there you were standing before him, eclipsed perfectly between him and the sun behind you, shining a halo around your head.
He smiled instinctively. “Hey, gorgeous.”
“You think I smell nice?”
Logan nodded, taking your hand and pressing a kiss against your palm.
“You smell amazing. Always do.”
You beamed. “Thanks, Johnny.”
You shifted shyly under his praise, the gift bag slung on your arm crinkled against your leg. The sound caught Logan’s attention, his eyes flicked over and his expression sobered.
“Baby.”
“What?” You asked innocently.
He gave you a knowing look.
“It’s not that expensive this time!”
Logan sighed, “Princess.”
“I promise!”
“You said that last time.”
“And I wasn’t lying!”
“You got me a car engine that was used in one of the Fast and Furious movies.”
“But—”
“From the set in Abu Dhabi.”
You looked at your feet, “It was imported…”
Logan shook his head and pulled you closer. “You know I don’t need expensive gifts every week, gorgeous. I know it’s how you show love, but I don’t want you spending money on me.”
“But I pinky promise this one isn’t as bad,” you held out your little finger to him.
He couldn’t deny you when you looked so adorable. He wrapped his pinky finger around yours begrudgingly.
“Alright, show it to me, princess.”
And the smile you gave him—followed by that joyful “Yay!!” and enthusiastic clap—made him forget all about the lecture he just gave you.

At the off campus house, Dean, Tucker, and Logan all sat on the living room couch, watching an action movie Dean and Tucker fought over. But the latter was much more interested in pestering Logan with questions about his recent escapades.
“So who is she?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Logan replied, tossing a handful of popcorn into his mouth.
“You’ve gotta be seeing someone, dude. You’ve been disappearing like crazy.” Tucker insisted.
“You wouldn’t know her,” Logan responded.
“Kendall Klein?” He tried.
“Nope.”
“Grace Ivers?”
“Uh uh.”
“Refill duty,” Dean tossed the empty popcorn bowl to Logan, who sighed in exasperation but stood up nonetheless.
When he walked in front of the couch, Dean suddenly raised his hand up.
“Park it.”
Logan halted in his tracks.
Dean spun his finger in the air, “Reverse.”
Logan complied and stood before him.
Dean lasered in on him with that perceptive gaze that meant he knew something and he was judging. Hard.
“Isabel Marant?”
Logan’s brows knitted together, “That’s not my girlfriend’s name either.”
“Ha! So there is a girlfriend,” Tucker smiled victoriously. “Damn, I didn’t think it was that serious.”
Dean waved his hands for Tucker to cut it. “Not the point!” Then he pointed at Logan’s feet. “Those shoes.”
Logan peered down and kicked his foot up slightly. “You like ‘em? They’re new.”
“Yeah, and they’re also $400.” Dean said.
Logan’s eyes widened. So you lied, sneaky—
“You don’t say,” he commented casually.
Dean raised a brow. “You’re telling me you spent $400 on sneakers?”
“Felt like treating myself.”
“Right.”
“Right.”
Dean stared at him before standing up to his full height. “Logan, don’t do it.”
Logan’s furrowed in confusion, “Don’t do what?”
“A rich girl. You’re dating a rich girl.”
Wow, he did not think Dean out of all people would be the first to put it together.
“Wait, you’re dating a rich girl?” Tucker asked, rising up from the couch as well.
Logan looked between them, suddenly feeling like he was put in the spotlight. “I—no. She’s not that rich—”
“Is that how you got that Fast and Furious collector’s item?” Tucker questioned.
“I still need to figure out if UPS can ship that back to the UAE—”
“YOU GUYS ARE SIDE TRACKING!” Dean yelled.
Logan blinked in surprise.
“Logan, you don’t understand.” Dean put his hands together in a praying motion. “Rich girls, they’re a different breed, alright? Not the cute, fun kind like Shiba Inus. No, like chihuahuas.”
“Chihuahuas are kind of cute,” Logan quipped.
“Yeah, they are…until they bite your hand off!” Dean exclaimed.
Logan squinted his eyes. “Alright, you’re laying it on thick.”
“No, I’m not, dude. Trust me. I grew up in New York. I’ve lived in the Hamptons. These rich people are insane. They don’t just accept lower class folk—”
“Ouch?”
“—they hunt them for sport,” Dean told him.
“Okay, maybe that’s a bit exaggerated,” Tucker chimed in.
“A little,” Dean muttered.
Logan sighed, “She’s not like that, alright? She’s actually really kind and sweet and generous, okay? She’d never do that.”
“Have you met her family?” Dean asked.
“…No.”
Dean made a ‘I told you so’ gesture.
Tucker spoke, “You should let us meet her. You know, check it out. Dean will lend you his rich people expertise.”
Logan raised a brow, “Is this an excuse for you to see who she is?”
“Oh 100%.”
Logan sighed.

A week later, Logan was pacing the hockey house living room. You were coming to meet his friends for the first time.
Garrett came down the stairs and saw them all gathered, “…What are we doing?”
“Meeting Logan’s girlfriend,” Tucker told him.
“You have a girlfriend?” Garrett queried.
Logan opened his mouth to answer but Dean spoke up, “We don’t know that yet.” He raised a finger. “Guilty unless proven innocent.”
Logan rolled his eyes, “Stop with that.”
“You’ll thank me when I save your life.”
The doorbell rang.
Logan froze and looked at his roommates. They stared back at him.
“Alright…just…don’t be fucking weird,” he told them before going to the door and pulling it open.
“Hi, Johnny!” You chirped.
Logan practically melted at the sight and sound of you. “Hey…”
You peered over his shoulder and saw all three of his friends standing behind him. You waited for him to let you in.
Your boyfriend cleared his throat and stepped aside for you to enter. You walked into the home and shared a polite smile with the group of hockey players.
Logan took a deep breath, “Guys, this is my girlfriend.”
You waved excitedly and shared your name.
“Baby, this is—”
“Garrett, Tucker, and Dean,” you finished. “I’ve seen you guys play! Though, I’m new to the sport…I only started watching recently.”
You blushed at the memory of only taking up hockey as an interest because of your crush on Logan.
“Welcome to our place,” Garrett greeted.
“It’s nice to meet you,” Tucker said.
Dean said nothing. His eyes inspected your figure. He grew up with a spoiled sister so he could tell you were dressed in designer from head to toe.
Yup, you were a rich girl.
You lifted up a box, “I brought everyone banana pudding.”
Tucker practically lunged forward and took the box from you, carrying it over to the kitchen counter. Garrett followed after him, you shared a look with Logan, as if waiting for his approval.
Logan gave you a reassuring nod and squeeze before leading you into the kitchen. Dean was the last to trail behind everyone.
“Magnolia Bakery?” Tucker gasped when he opened the box. “They opened one here?”
“I got it from New York,” you replied.
Tucker practically moaned around his spoon when he took a bite. Garrett chuckled at that before looking at you, “Did you go there over the weekend or something?”
You shook your head, “No, I had my butler fly there this morning to get it.” You answered sweetly, utterly oblivious.
The guys all exchanged a look.
Logan kept an awkward smile on then turned to you with a low voice, “Baby, I thought we talked about this.”
“You said no imports,” you pouted cutely.
Logan bit back a sigh. “You’re right, I did.”
“I just wanted to do something nice for your friends…” You mumbled, your bottom lip quivering.
Garrett noticed and changed the topic, “Dean, hey, you’re from New York, right? Come have some, I bet you miss a taste from home.”
Dean, who was a silent observer to all this, finally stepped into the kitchen fully and grabbed a spoon. He scooped some pudding up and ate it.
A beat.
“I see you got the seasonal flavor.” He noted.
You nodded hopefully.
Dean returned a slow nod before dropping his spoon. Your heart skipped a beat, thinking he was going to disapprove.
Then, “Fuck, Logan, she’s a good one.”
Garrett and Tucker laughed, playfully hitting Dean on the back. Logan rolled his eyes, but he could not deny that a part of him loosened in relief. Not that he needed Dean to make a judgment on you—more so that he really wanted his friends to like you.
Because he liked you. A lot.
You grinned, “Yay!” You exclaimed, clapping your hands before launching yourself into Logan’s arms.
He stumbled for a moment but hugged you back, sharing a bewildered but happy look with the boys over your shoulder. They returned the look with obnoxious smirks.
“I thought Dean would be way scarier,” you told Logan without thinking.
Logan smiled nervously and glanced at Dean who looked incredibly offended. “No…I didn’t say he was.”
“You said he was judgy,” you titled your head.
Garrett and Tucker had to bite down on their cackles, leaning onto each other for support.
“Judgy?” Dean repeated with a glare.
Logan looked at him, “I mean…” he shrugged.
“Don’t worry, Dean.” you said reassuringly. “You don’t seem judgy or dumb at all!”
Garrett burst out in laughter, “Oh, man. I like this girl, Loge!”
You blinked, completely unaware. “Thank you, Garrett. You don’t seem like a moody drama queen either!”
Garrett’s face dropped. Now it was Tucker’s turn to laugh out loud.
He pointed at Garrett’s dumbfounded expression. “She got you too, G.”
You were a bit confused by their reactions. You looked at Logan, “Did I say something funny?”
Logan just watched the scene, half horrified, half amused. He shook his head and pulled you into his side. “Nah, gorgeous. You’re perfect.”
“Really?”
“Mhm,” he pressed a kiss to the top of your head as all three of his friends started comedically arguing and laughing over the mess you started.
“Okay, yay!” You clapped your hands. “Because I have a little something for you waiting in my car. It was under a thousand dollars this time, I promise—”
the boys adopt her and take her to try “normal” people stuff she’s never done before
blurb: a rich uptown girl with car issues keeps visiting the small garage off the highway where the owner’s super hot son works.
warnings: fem!reader, fluff, lowk ditzy!reader but not really, yummy mechanic!logan.
note: pt. 2 here
Logan heard you before he saw you.
He memorized the sound of those heels clicking against the rough pavement like a second heartbeat. After all, not many girls around this side of town wore vintage Prada pumps to an off-highway garage.
And even if they did, they most certainly did not own a BMW 6er f12 convertible.
Logan’s older brother Jeff was leaning against the workshop desk and sipping on a can of Coke when he saw you strut in. He sighed, “Here comes Lottie.”
The nickname was a running joke between the brothers. Jeff had muttered it under his breath when you first visited the shop and asked a question about diesel gas. He took one look at you and knew you were a clueless, rich girl who shouldn’t be visiting garages such as theirs.
Logan hadn’t entertained the nickname so much. He thought it was unnecessarily mean. Besides, Lottie was always a sweetheart in Princess and the Frog.
Jeff turned on his heels and disappeared into the garage’s office, leaving Logan to deal with you on his own.
Logan put down a spare part he was working on and turned around, leaning back against the counter.
You waved excitedly with a cheerful grin. “Hi, Logan!”
He smiled politely, “Hey…”
“Did you save my girl?” You asked, batting your lashes.
Logan nodded, “She’s all fixed up for you,” he said, walking over to the wall of car keys hung on hooks to retrieve yours.
You clapped your hands, “Yay!”
He chuckled whilst shaking his head. You got happy over the simplest of things. He thought it was endearing.
You walked over to your car. Nebula, as you called her. A fitting name for a sleek, black convertible with dark purple leather upholstery and shiny silver rims.
Logan came over and handed you your keys. “You wanna try her out?”
You nodded and unlocked your car before opening the driver’s side door. No beeping. Perfect.
You beamed at Logan. “You did it!”
He smiled with an easy laugh, feeling proud of his work. In reality, your car issue was a minor one; the door sensor just needed a replacement. Nothing about it required a lick of rocket science, and yet you looked at him as if he hung the stars in your galaxy.
You put your designer bag into your car and bent over to fish out your wallet. Logan stared at your body for a second before he caught himself, clearing his throat and looking away respectfully.
You stood up straight, holding your leather wallet between both hands, looking at him with a doe-eyed expression.
He scratched the back of his neck and gestured for you to follow him to the counter. The gritty sounds of his boots crunching the gravel below and the rhythmic click click click of your heels echoed through the garage.
Logan went around the counter and pulled out a receipt and wrote down the service you needed with the price. He slid the piece of paper to you but you just kept looking at his face with a smile. He blinked before realizing you didn’t care for the price. Right, he thought. Rich girls don’t worry about those things.
“Cash or card?” He asked.
You held up your metal black credit card.
Logan pursed his lips and nodded as he pulled out a card reader. You tapped your card without even glancing at the screen and clapped your hands when the machine beeped in satisfaction.
“Thank you, Logan,” you told him kindly.
He shrugged politely, “It’s no problem.”
You smiled at him. He returned it, “Do you want your recei—“
Before he could even hand you your proof of service, you were walking back to your car. He nodded to himself and stuffed the receipt into the cash register.
He watched as you exited the garage, waving at him enthusiastically as you drove by. He gave a small wave back.
+
A week later, your BMW pulled into the garage whilst Logan was working under a car.
He didn’t hear the sound of your heels this time as he had headphones in, blasting a classic rock song. He felt a shadow looming nearby so he turned and saw your heels appear. He paused and rolled out from under the car, meeting the sight of your broad smile peering down at him.
“Hi, Logan!”
“Hey…” He sounded confused. His eyebrows furrowed and he glanced around, “Didn’t you pick up your car last week?”
You nodded. “Yep. But my AC is broken now…” You pouted.
Hm, Logan thought. He sat up, “Oh, I didn’t see that when I did the diagnostic last week—“
“Must be a new issue, then. These foreign cars are all funny,” you replied, tilting your head.
He cleaned his hands with a rag before standing up. He had oil stains on his shirt and just a little smudge on his face. You thought he looked so ruggedly handsome.
“Let me take a look,” he said and you stepped out the way for him to crank open your hood and inspect the situation.
As he got to work, you leaned against your car and watched. After a moment, you asked, “How was your weekend?”
People don’t usually talk to Logan when he repairs their cars. Especially not pretty, rich girls like you.
“It was good, played hockey, worked here in the shop,” he responded casually.
You nodded along even though he couldn’t see you.
“Did you win?” You asked.
He laughed, an amused sound. “Yeah…yeah, we won.”
You clapped your hands, “Yay!”
Logan laughed again. It was cute, he thought, how you always clapped at good news.
“You like hockey?” He asked, looking over your hood to meet your eyes.
You hummed, “I only recently got into it. My family prefers watching polo, golf, or tennis.”
Rich people sports, he wanted to say. That made sense.
“Recently, huh?” He said instead, ducking his head to keep working. “Who should I thank for putting you onto hockey?” He joked.
You smiled shyly and said, “You…”
His hand paused. The parts of your car suddenly looking like alphabet soup moving in jumbled letters. He lifted his head to meet your gaze again. But before he could manage a reply, you changed the subject. “Is it broken beyond repair?” You asked, turning your attention to your car parts.
He snapped out of his daze and shook his head. “Uhh, no. No, you just need AC coolant.”
“Is that an easy fix?” You asked.
He nodded, “Yeah, the easiest.” He said.
You smiled in relief. “Thank goodness I have you fixing my car,” you told him.
He smiled at that.
He fixed your car, you chirped out a “Thank you, Logan!”, you paid without looking at the bill, and waved goodbye as you left.
“That the BMW girl again?” Logan’s dad asked as he stepped out the office.
“Yeah,” Logan replied, wiping his hands.
“Lottie back again so soon?” Jeff teased. Logan rolled his eyes at the jab.
“You overcharge her?” His dad asked.
Logan looked at him, “Why would I do that?”
His dad shrugged, “Luxurious car fee?”
Logan squinted his eyes, “We don’t do that.”
Jeff piped in, “We could. She doesn’t even check her receipts.”
Logan looked between his dad and brother, “So what? We charge her fair and square.”
His dad shared a looked with Jeff before he went back inside the office.
+
Week after week, you came by to the garage. First it was an oil change, then a rim replacement, then a loose window ribbon, then a tire with low air, and so on.
By week 7, Logan had had enough. It’s not that he didn’t like seeing you, no. Far from it. He actually enjoyed your company. He often looked forward to when you’d come by and say Hi, Logan! in that sing-song voice of yours, your joyful smile, and innocent questions.
But now he was noticing a pattern.
So when you rolled in that Thursday night like clockwork, he didn’t go up to you. He stayed by the workshop desk and watched you with his arms crossed over his chest.
“Hi, Logan!” You beamed with a gleeful wave.
But upon meeting his stern expression, your smile faltered and your hand slowly dropped back to your side. You looked around the empty garage before walking over to him in hesitant steps. The sound of your heels filled the space between the two of you. You stopped in front of him and flattened down your skirt, a nervous tic of yours that you never noticed before.
“Y/n,” he said, his tone serious. “This is the seventh time you’ve come to the garage.”
You nodded, “Nebula keeps acting up—“
“No, she doesn’t.”
You looked at your feet. No smile, no lively clapping.
His arms uncrossed and he stepped closer. He wasn’t angry. No, it wasn’t that. Logan isn’t an idiot. He knew. He knew you had a crush on him, knew the only reason you showed up time and time again was just to spend time with him. Why else would you come? He knew families like yours had their own repairmen at fancy dealerships who could fix any problem. You didn’t need to come into his family’s garage.
Yet, you did.
Logan figured it out by week 4. But truth be told, he never mentioned it because a part of him liked being around you too. He liked hearing your upbeat voice, the familiar tap of your heels, the sound of your laugh. So he stayed quiet, he fixed your tires, and refilled your car’s oil. He went along with it. Because he liked your company just as much as you liked his.
Unable to lie to him, you lifted your head and met his eyes. “I did those things to my car on purpose.” You confessed quietly.
Logan blinked. His stance eased at your admission and he looked at you with soft eyes.
“I watched a YouTube video on how to drain AC coolant,” you added. “And drove around until my tires lost some of its pressure, and—”
“Y/n,” he held your chin with his hand. “You didn’t have to do all that to see me.”
Your eyes widened as you stared at him. He smiled gently, “I…like seeing you. With or without Nebula.”
“You do?” You asked.
He nodded, “I do.”
He leaned in slowly, giving you the chance to pull away. But you stayed. His lips met yours in a gentle kiss. Not hungry or desperate, just a soft sealing; a mutual understanding—I like you and you like me.
When he pulled away, he rested his forehead against yours. You looked at him with a honeyed, dazed expression. He smiled down at you and pecked your lips once more. You weren’t a spoiled, rich girl to him. Not clueless or ditzy. You were just…you. A sweetheart with a crush on a cute guy who would do anything to see him. You were Lottie.
He glanced behind you at your car. He pulled away with a reluctant sigh, “What did you do to her this time?”
You smiled sheepishly, “I jammed my gearshift…”
He chuckled softly, both amused and fondly exasperated by you. “Okay…let me take a look.” He said, lacing his hand with yours and bringing it up to his lips to press a kiss.
'you're the girl in garretts lockscreen' ! garrett graham x childhoodbestfriend!reader
summary .ᐟ you finally meet visit the off campus house and meet garrett's friends, but not in the way either of you imagined.
notes .ᐟ maybe cringe??? idk...
"You're not waiting outside. End of"
His words were stern as he said them, not harsh, no, never harsh when it came to you, but his tone gave no room for discussion.
"G, Please. I'll be fine" You cringed at the slight whine that echoed through your words, pleading to your best friend in front of you
"No"
"Garrett!"
"No."
The lock to the off campus house clicked as his words echoed in your ears, Garrett's hand tight on the doorknob as he pushed it open. The warmth of his shared house flowed out, contrasting sharply with the biting cold of the winter weather outside.
"Get in, it's fucking freezing. You're gonna catch a cold" He sighed, tilting his head towards the door as he turned to you.
He rolled his eyes as you made no effort to move, as stubborn as you had been since elementary school. Garrett watched as you tried your best not to shiver, the cold nipping at your cheeks.
His hand swiftly came down around you, softly resting on the small of your back as he basically pushed you inside.
You hated how much you liked the warmth of the house, the multiple layers of clothes you had thrown on yourself like armour now seeming unnecessary.
Scanning the inside of the house, your eyes drifted slowly over the entrance. It looked exactly like you had imagined. Red solo cups and beer bottles resting on the coffee table, pillows haphazardly strewn across the sofa, a led lit air hockey table standing out against the dark wood floors resting next to a keg.
Your eyes almost rolled out of your head at how predictable it was.
"Happy now?" Garrett teased, closing the door behind him and placing his keys down. "No" You quipped back almost instantly
When you woke up this morning, the last place you pictured yourself was standing in the living room of the house Garrett shared with his 3 friends.
Garrett had waited for you outside your mid-day class, pulling you sideways the second you walked out of the lecture hall like some stalker waiting for his victim.
You let out a gasp as he pulled you into the corner of the hallway, grinning down at you like he hadn't just manhandled you into him. You listened to him drone on and on about hockey and practice, clearly where he had just come from, his dark curls still damp against his forehead as they swayed and his skin sticky from sweat.
It was only when you were dragged up the steps of his house that you realised grabbing lunch apparently meant needing to go home first. A detail Garrett had somehow failed to mention.
Despite being on campus for a few weeks now, you hadn't yet payed a visit to his humble abode. But that was not due to lack of him trying.
Ever since arriving at Briar, he badgered you constantly about coming over to his place, wanting to be in the solace of his room alone with you since you had banned him from staying in your dorm out of worry of making your freshly new roommate uncomfortable with his presence.
It's not that you didn't want to be with Garrett. Never that.
But you would be lying if you said you weren't slightly intimidated by the prospect of meeting his fellow hockey player roomates.
You wouldn't say you were a shy girl, per say, but you had heard whispers around campus of Garrett and his friends constantly since the semester started.
Whispers that clearly indicated that they were far, far from nobodies.
If you hadn't known Garrett since you were practically in diapers, you'd probably be scared shitless of him the most out of all of them.
Garrett didn't mean to trick you into coming over to his house that day. Well, at least not really.
He did truthfully want to grab lunch with you. Just after he showered, changed, and hopefully coaxed you into napping with him.
"Baby, they aren't home. Won't be for a while, don't worry." Garrett whispered into your ear, his minty breath warm against your neck as he dipped his head down behind you. Referencing to the fact his roomates were out discussing plays for their next hockey game with the new rookies, a meetup Garrett was glad he missed out on the planning of.
They may have still asked him to come. Multiple times. He may have declined. Multiple times.
"I'm not worried" You replied, almost too quickly.
He raised his eyebrows at your comment, clearly as convinced as you were by your own words. Which wasn't at all.
"Cmon" Garrett said as he began grabbing your hand before leading towards the staircase.
If you weren't so distracted looking around at his house and dissecting every detail of your new environment, you'd have asked where he was taking you.
However, your non-existent question was answered as he led you through a hallway and into a room.
His room.
You could tell as soon as you entered.
It had Garrett Graham written all over it. Well, literally. The street sign detailed with his name being the same one you had seen in his room from home.
It smelled like him too. Cologne, aftershave and mint.
Of course, it was clean. Bed made perfectly, desk neat, light filtering through his mahogany brown blinds.
A white picture frame stood out against the cool greys and browns hues of his decor, hand painted hearts littering the frame. You remember painting that him years ago, before he left for college. Assuming he was going to fill it with a photo of his friends or high school hockey team, you left the insert blank.
But instead, the picture that lay inside the glass, was you.
You remember the day it was taken. Garrett was fiddling around with your digital camera, promising he wasn't going to break it. He turned the camera around so it was facing the both of you, reaching his hands out and snapping a selfie of you both as he kissed you on the cheek.
As you looked around the room, the door clicked behind you, Garrett immediately taking the chance to wrap his hands around your waist while he stood behind you.
You immediately pulled away, looking back at him with mock disgust.
"You're sweaty" You declared, regarding the fact he had just came back from hockey practice.
"You can't even feel me!" He exclaimed, gesturing to the multitude of layers you had on due to the cold. "Yeah, but i can smell you" You quipped, even though he somehow didn't smell as bad as he should from skating around in a rink all day.
"Ok, rude. I'm gonna go shower then. Happy?" Garrett asked, sarcastic in his tone as he shrugged off his hoodie.
"No, you said you just needed to grab something quickly before we get lunch" You accused, watching as he walked over to his dresser.
"Well, you've made me insecure now" He stated, turning around to look back at you.
"No i haven't. You are never insecure."
"You're right. I'm not" Your breath hitched as he pulled his black shirt over his head, leaving him shirtless a few feet away from you, a bright grin on his face.
It wasn't the first time you had seen Garrett shirtless. Probably not even the hundredth. But it never didn't make you feel giddy inside, especially since his skin was glistening as the fractured light shone into his room.
"Now, can you stop standing there like a deer in the headlights and sit down or something" He joked, the fact that you were still standing right in front of his door reminding you that you hadn't moved since you had entered.
Suddenly, it dawned on you.
"You planned this whole thing didn't you? You didn't need to just grab something, did you?" You accused, wagging your finger in his face as you approached him.
His face then shifted to one struck with mock guilt, teasing. "I'm guilty. Take me away officer. Make it quick, please." Reaching his hands up as if he were about to get handcuffed.
"You're not funny," You replied
"I'm pretty funny"
You rolled your eyes as you made your way to his bed, sitting down on the soft comforter. "Hurry up" You said, placing your book bag onto his floor.
"What, don't wanna join me?" Garrett asked, only him knowing he meant the idea of you showering with him as a little more than a joke.
You ignored his question, facepalming as you groaned.
You heard him laugh across the room, his footsteps echoing towards his bed where you were sat. Your eyes raised, watching Garrett as he approached, clad only in his grey sweatpants.
"I'll be just a minute, bathroom is down the hall. Call out if you need me" You nodded softly at him, his constant need to make sure you're okay apparent in his sincere words.
He gleamed at your nod, reaching down to hold the back of your head softly as he kissed you on the forehead. "Atta girl"
You really tried not to watch him walk away. But the phrase often muttered by your roommate 'hate to see him go, love to watch him leave' echoed annoyingly in your head
The prominent muscles of his back rippled as he reached for the doorknob, his gold chain gleaming as it rested above his tattoo, every movement creating a tidal wave of muscle and strength.
You released a breath you didn't know you were holding as you heard the door close after he had left the room.
The heat from what you were hoping was the warmth of his room and not that interaction began creeping up your spine, causing you to pull off all the layers it took until you were left only in your long sleeve shirt.
As you stood alone in his room, you felt yourself drift over to the photo frame you had been staring at earlier. A smile creeping onto your face before you could register it as you slowly picked up the frame.
You can't believe he had a photo of you framed in his room, standing proudly on his bedside table.
It was only then you began to notice the small reminders of you in his bedroom. A note you had wrote him in middle school you had completely forgotten about tacked onto his wall, a candle sat on his dresser that he always told you smelled just like your perfume, the soft pink blanket you had left in his car months ago thrown over the back of his chair.
The soft chirping of birds outside his window sang in your ears, your head turning to watch as they danced through the branches of the trees. You found yourself smiling at their actions, flying in the air joyful and utterly free.
"G, I'm gonna fuckin kill you for bailing. Those rookies are fucking insufferab-"
Your neck almost broke by how swiftly you turned it, shock and genuine horror struck across your features.
Stood in Garrett's door was a tall blonde, his jaw slack to the floor and looking just as shocked as you were. Your eyes swiftly scanned his frame, a Briar hockey hoodie resting on his body and his hand outstretched to the door knob he had just rattled open.
"Sorry, sorry! Fuck." The boy cursed, his face now painted with guilt as he cringed at himself.
You nearly jumped as he went to slam the door closed, interrupting his movements. "No, no. It's ok. I'm just waiting for Garrett to shower" You explained, walking a few feet closer to the door.
The boy's eyebrows raised at your words, before a look of recognition struck wildly through his face.
"You're her!" He practically shouted, removing his hand from the doorknob to point at you.
You almost jumped at the volume of his voice, confusion washing through you. "Her?" You quizzed
"Yes! You're the girl in Garrett's lockscreen!" He started, what seemed to be excitement lighting up his expression, moving his finger to point to the picture frame on Garrett's bedside table "And the photo, You're her!"
Before you could even conjure up anytime of response to his words, another voice cut through the air
"Dean, bro, what the fuck are you screaming about?" Another boy said, showing up behind the blonde.
"Oh my god" The brunette exclaimed, clearly recognising you as well the second his eyes drifted to you, now standing feeling embarrassingly awkward as you stood in Garrett's room.
"Garrett talks about you all the fucking time, since we've known him. I cannot believe we are finally meeting you" The blonde said, tumbling into the room and wrapping you into a hug, eliciting a laugh from you that finally made you feel the tiniest bit less horrified by the situation.
"Tucker! Bro! Come here!" The brunette behind the boy shouted, smiling as he followed behind the blonde into the room.
At that same moment, steam rolled out from the bathroom door, Garrett's curls tight and dark from the water as he ran his hand through his hair, his body now clad in a dark grey teeshirt and black sweatpants.
Due to the sound of the water cascading from the shower head, the shouts of his roommates hadn't cut echoed through the noise, leaving him completely oblivious to the scene unravelling in his own bedroom.
So, he was utterly horrified as he watched the doorframe of his room now swung completely open and Dean's voiced echoing through the hallway from his bedroom.
"What the fuck are you doing?"
Garrett's voice sliced sharply through the air, his eyes set on the fact that Dean had his arms wrapped tightly around you, fucking hugging you.
Dean jumped as he heard Garrett's voice, turning to find him standing in the door of his room.
"Uh, hugging my new best-friend?" Dean said as if it were obvious, his voice contradicted by the fact he was slowly backing away from you at the sight of his friend's less than happy expression.
As if you weren't overstimulated enough, steps began bounding into down the hallway, gradually getting louder as they reached Garrett's room.
"What! What did i miss?" Tucker exclaimed, out of breath from running up the stairs from the kitchen with a deep fear of fomo.
His face mimicked Dean's exact expression as he noticed you, his jaw dropping in the same shocked way before he shouted

You walk into the hockey house with Hannah and Allie. As soon as you walk in you almost regret it immediately. You’ve had what feels like the longest day ever and now you’re here to stand around and party for a few hours. You’d much rather be in your bed right now, sleeping.
Don’t be mistaken, you love yourself a good party. You loved everything about it, the dancing and getting to have fun with your friends. You’re a very social person and love talking to people. But it gets tiring at some point.
“Look who made it.” Logan says as he sees you making your way into the house.
“Shut up.” You smile at him.
“What? I’m just happy to see you.” He defends and engulfs you in a hug.
“I’m happy to see you too.” You roll your eyes trying to hide your smile.
“What? What was that? I didn’t quite catch that.” He teases you dramatically.
“I’m never being nice to you again.” You try walking away.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry!”
“I’ve just missed you.” He says, sincerely.
“Aw, Jonny. I’ve missed you too.”
You’re pretty much the only one who calls him by his first name. You’re the only one who can actually. You also think John is kind of boring, so you prefer to call him Jonny.
You and Logan have been friends since your freshman year in college. You first met him at a party and you both found each attractive. One thing led to another and you ended up making out. You both immediately realized that you had no chemistry whatsoever. Kissing him felt weird. You both agreed to just stay friends. You’ve remained best friends ever since.
“Why have you been so busy lately?” He asks leading you over to sit on the couch.
Allie and Hannah disappeared into the crowd, probably going to see their boyfriends.
“I don’t know, I’ve just been picking up extra shifts at Malone’s. School work has also been keeping me. But I’m here now, aren’t I?” You sit down on the couch and face him.
“Finally.” He sighs dramatically.
“I just have a question though.” He asks hesitantly.
“What is it?” You look at him skeptically.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“You always ask me weird questions, Logan. I’m allowed to be skeptical.”
“I don’t ask you weird questions!” He says, defending himself whole heartedly.
You narrow your eyes at him, as if you’re asking him “Are you serious?”.
“Okay, fine! I might ask you weird questions but this one isn’t weird.” He caves.
“What is it then?” You let out a small laugh at his antics.
“Was there no other reason for me not seeing you?”
“What do you mean?”
“There was no particular person, that you could be avoiding?”
“Stop asking me stupid questions.” You try getting up put he grabs you and places you back on the couch.
“That was hot.” You admit.
You’re a very flirtatious person and both of you flirt with each other all the time. You thought maybe you could change the subject somehow. You hate talking about the man who shall not be named.
“Stop trying to change the subject.”
“Ugh, fine.” You give up.
“Why would I put myself in a situation with a person I hate? So, I try to not be where he is.” You shrug your shoulders.
“So you are avoiding him?” He smirks.
“Whatever, Logan.”
“Why can’t you guys just be civil? I miss you.” Logan asks.
He’s tired of having to hang out with you two separately.
You always miss out on group outings just because of Tucker. He’s never understood why you two hate each so much.
“I miss you too, Jonny. I just really can’t stand him.” You answer truthfully.
“I understand.”
His big brown eyes looked way too sad, you couldn’t deny him.
“I’ll stop avoiding hanging out with you guys. Okay?”
“Really? I didn’t think that would actually work.” He says with the biggest smile on his face.
“Oh? Well then I’ll just take it back.” You say sarcastically.
“No, no. Please don’t take it back.” Logan begs.
“I don’t know, I think I might.” You say teasingly.
You get up and aim for the kitchen.
“Nope, not happening.” He follows after you.
Little did the both of you know, there was a pair of eyes staring at the two of you the entire time.
“Dude, you’re gonna burn holes into their heads.” Dean says standing next to Tucker.
“What are you talking about?” Tucker tries to act nonchalant.
“You haven’t stopped staring since she got here.”
“Why is she even here?” He tries changing the subject.
“Because she’s our friend?” Dean says like it was obvious, because it was.
You’ve been friends with Logan for forever and got even closer to everyone when Hannah and Allie started dating Dean and Garrett. The only thing not being obvious is why you and Tucker hate each other.
“She’s definitely not my friend.” Tucker says, almost disgusted.
“Why do you even hate her so much?” Dean asks genuinely.
“She’s just- dude I don’t even wanna talk about her.” He cuts himself off.
One thing he’ll never admit is, he actually doesn’t know why he hates you so much. It’s just a feeling he’s always had, even if he can’t place it.
“Right.” Dean says simply, trying to hide is smirk.
“What?” Tucker asks annoyed.
“Nothing, nothing.” He denies.
Dean can sense that there’s something Tucker isn’t telling him. He doesn’t wanna confront him about it just yet.
“You’re weird.” Tucker shakes his head and tries walking out of the kitchen.
He “tries” because he accidentally bumps into someone. That someone being you. You were looking at Logan beside you, not realizing someone was in front of you. Tucker was looking behind him, at Dean. He also didn’t see that you were walking towards him. This means it was both of your faults, but neither of you are gonna admit that.
You feel a cold sticky substance coat your feet and skirt.
“Watch where you’re going, you dick!” You yell at him.
Not only did he bump into you, but he spilt alcohol all over your brand new heels!
“Watch where I’m going? You were the one that bumped into me.” He scoffs in disbelief.
“Yeah? Well, whose drink is all over my new heels? Yours! You spilt your disgusting drink all over me, so don’t tell me I’m the one bumping into you.” You fume.
You know that that necessarily doesn’t have to be true. You could’ve bumped into him and he could’ve still spilled his drink on you. That didn’t matter to you though, you were furious. Your legs and feet being sticky also causes your anger to grow immensely.
“Am I supposed to care?” He walks closer to you, trying to intimidate you.
“I don’t give a fuck about what you care about. But maybe try opening your eyes and using your brain for once, so you don’t spill disgusting beverages on people. I think that’ll help next time.“ You seethe. You move closer to him, not letting him intimidate you.
“Woah, amazing analysis, princess. But I don’t think I need your help.” He takes a step closer.
“Ew, don’t call me that. And trust me when I say you need help.” You say with a disgusted expression on your face.
“Yeah? So you can teach me how to follow you like a lost puppy like Logan does?” He smiles mockingly at you, taking the last step before your bodies are touching.
“Hey!” Logan chimes in.
He’s been standing beside you the entire time, watching the interaction in 4K.
“Sorry, dude.” Tucker apologizes.
“It’s okay.” Logan accepts the apology and pats him on the shoulder.
He goes over to stand next to Dean instead, who also has been watching the whole thing go down.
“Maybe that’s what you need. Because you certainly need to be put in your place.” You say with pure rage, as you cross your arms over your chest.
“You’d like that wouldn’t you?” He smirks down at you.
“Stop being such a perv you idiot.” You punch his shoulder.
“What’s happening?” Logan whispers to Dean, slightly scared.
“I don’t know, but i think this is like foreplay for them or something.” Dean answers, looking at you both intently.
“Dude.” Logan slaps Deans head.
“What? It’s true. Who even talks like that?”
“I guess that’s true.” Logan comes to a realization.
“You’ve gonna punch a little harder if you wanna hurt me, darling.” Tucker says smugly.
“Yeah? You think you’re all that?” You punch his shoulder even harder.
“A little harder.” He teases you.
“I bet you’d like that, you perv.” You spat.
“You hitting me? No. Other women who are actually hot, hitting me? Yeah, I’d like that.” He says smugly. It’s almost like the mere thought of you disgusts him.
“That’s lovely, now enjoy your pervert fantasies. I have to go clean the shoes you ruined.” You say faking being polite.
“Don’t worry, I bet your daddy will buy you new ones, princess.” He says mockingly.
You don’t have any energy left fighting with him so just flip him off.
Logan follows after you as you walk up the stairs.
“Wait.” He says, wanting you to slow down.
“What.” You say, irritated.
You’re all sticky and annoyed right now, you don’t really wanna talk to anyone.
“Let’s go to my room, I’ll give you new clothes.”
“It’s fine, Logan.”
“No it’s not, you’re covered in alcohol.”
“Okay, fine.” You agree and walk into his room.
“Here” he hands over a sweater and a pair of sweatpants.
“Thank you, Logan.” You say and walk out of the room to go to the bathroom. You desperately need to wash away the alcohol on your legs.
You come back into Logan’s room in new clothes.
“Welcome back.”
You just sigh in response, you’re already tired and you’ve only been here for less than an hour.
Logan just chuckles at you.
You throw yourself on his bed beside him.
“I didn’t even get to get a drink.” You say dramatically.
“I know, you immediately got into trouble instead.”
“That wasn’t my fault. If he would’ve just watched where he was going we wouldn’t be here right now.” You say defensively.
“You should’ve done that too.” He says quietly.
“What?” You say, glaring at him.
“I mean, you kinda walked into him as well. You walked into each other.” He tries saying himself from your wrath.
“Don’t ever say stupid shit like that again.” You say, almost offended.
“I’m just saying!” He says putting his hands up and laughing.
“Whatever.” You roll your eyes and laugh with him.
“The girls are probably mad at me right now though.” You realize.
“Why?”
“I promised them I’d dance and spend time with them today.” You say feeling guilty.
“They’ll be fine, they’re probably off with Dean and Garrett.” He reassures you.
“Yeah, but still.” You say feeling bad.
“It’s fine, you can dance with them at the next party. Now relax you’ve been through enough at this party.”
“You’re right.” You chuckle at his choice of words.
You feel your phone vibrate as you lay your head down, trying to relax like Logan told you.
“Speaking of the devil.” You say as you see Allie texting your group chat.
