I came across this really cool graffiti when I walking through colaba. This beautiful artwork has been purposely painted outside a shop in colaba. What strikes you most about this picture is the fact that it is so apt in today's world where in at any given point if time you would find a person who would just want to scream the hell out for whatever reason that such person may have. The first thing that came to my mind, well actually there were two things that came to mind. First thing was why don't we have more sun artwork around the city because it really renders a hips cool quotient and modern trendy look to old washed-out and clunky structures. Second thing that came to my mind was this song "SCREAM" by the legendary song writer and singer late Mr. Chris Cornell. The lyrics of that song and this graffiti really go hand in hand and while write I write this piece I am listening to just that. If you guys haven't heard it yet then please do go and check it out. I feel that whoever created this graffiti made it from a perspective of a person who feels that today's societal notions are not only archaic but stupid and baseless and it's a High time you shout out or scream out for a change. There is nothing better than to get lost in bylanes of South mumbai especially Fort and Colaba area and experience colonial past of this beautiful and magnificent city. And experience gets all the much better than when coupled with overcast weather. During the monsoons, the city brightens up despite all gloominess of the weather and it is one of best times to go bersk with your 📷. I personally feel it is sometimes better to get lost so that you can rediscover in a new way every single time. This clock tower forms part of the last remaining portion of the erstwhile walled city of Mumbai. Not only it's an art deco structure but an important one at that since it gives you a peek into how it was back then. Since it so closely located to the docks and it kinda looks amazing during overcast weathers when sunlight peircing through clouds cast itself on the wall and its structures. Picture in Picture (PIP in true sense 😉) I captured this photo during a photowalk arranged by @ideacellularltd and @mumbai_igers on Sunday, June 18, 2017. It was interesting to see so many people turn for the event since it was scheduled quite early in the morning. The photowalk took us through the bylanes of heritage precints of fort and colaba. All in all photowalk turned out to be quite interesting and I got to experience other perspective of others like me with artistic inclination towards clicking snaps. So here it is the mandatory father's day picture. I have used the word mandatory because that seems to be the trend and necessity of virtual social existence these days. May it be the father's day or mother's day or women's day or some other day's of days you will definitely find pictures with all the emotional content being uploaded all over the facebook, instagram and on the likes of it. However, most of people very rarely do the same on other days when there is no special occasion, which I failed to understand. If people are so keen on expressing what they feel about their loved ones they really should do so throughout the year and not particularly on these so called special days. I feel people my generation atleast, tend to take their parents and other loved ones in their life for granted at times during the rest of the year but so conveniently indulge in the treating then the best on these social occasions since their virtual presence requires them to do so and it is so hip thing to do. This herd mentality is beyond me. Personally I have very unconventional relationship with my dad and even so it has never stopped expressing my love and gratitude for him and all that he does for me through my actions and I not uploading a snap of him on father's day is not going make my love any lesser for him. On the contrary if I upload his snap on this day but otherwise I am take him for granted or don't treat him the way I treat him on this particular day then that will change things and that won't be correct and he will feel hurt though he won't say anything. I really feel lucky that I have a dad and certainly life is amazing with him in it then what it would have been if he wasn't there. On that note and as I said above, here it is my mandatory pic of my father and I once again wish him happy father's day. 😃 P.S. views expressed above are completely personal and not directed at anybody in particular.
