Drunk, stoned, just started watching Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers āTake the Highway 1991ā on YouTube, and I want to cry.
Not from the emotional overload a sensitive guy like me welcomes with every nostalgic tone or reminiscing whim, but for a reason that escapes me.
I miss Tom, the promise of hearing he and the Heartbreakers bring down the house around me, but also the times in my life for which his music laid the back drop.
The good times will continue and his music will continue to fill in the experiences of my life, but it is a new concept, being on the other side of the art that conceptualized my youth.
Rest in peace Tom Petty.

Just found out today that my āpriorsā on here are being used to train AI in a sale to the highest bidder.
I knew that it didnt matter that anyone ever read what I wrote. As it turns out, itās liable to alter to course of technological advancement.
For the record, I paused much longer than Iām proud of deciding how I wanted to spell ācourse.ā
Six Decibels of Separation: The Big Lebowski Soundtrack
I can toe-tally understand the cult mentality of The Big Lebowski, a movie that can be both adored and completely overlooked by so many people.Ā āYou want a toe? I can get you a toe. Believe me. There are ways, dude. You donāt want to know about it.Ā Believe me. Hell, I can get you a toe by 3 oāclock this afternoon.... with nail polish.ā
Forget about the fucking toe. This movie is one of my favorites and I am slowly realizing that I have probably already written a fanboy piece about this movie. This is probably due to the fact that I drink when I watch this movie and I write when I drink. This is like a G-rated Burroughs scenario and I am down for a time.Ā
For the sake of argument, I would like to focus on the music in the movie. It is in this comfy space that I think we might all find some common ground.Ā
Lets start out with some Creedence Clearwater Revival, Lookin Out My Back Door, a classic song, but if you only have a minute and you want something to laugh at, the video above will check those boxes.Ā
Being a huge fan of Santana, I always enjoy the musical backdrop to the punch line of an amazing joke in the movie. If you havenāt seen it, the smashed out windshield and Jeff Bridges visual frustration arenāt nearly as comical, but this loop of the guys riding to Oye Como VaĀ cracks me up every time!
Nobody fucks with tha jesus. You know this or you donāt, but if youāve seen The Big Lebowski, you know that given his pedo backstory, tha jesus might not be someone you want to fuck with. In either case, Iād like the share an anecdote from my youth. To properly date myself, I had asked a friend to burn a CD for me and I asked that he put Hotel California on there for me. I ended up getting the cut by the Gypsy Kings and while I might have been pissed at first, I have come to love this version more than any other...Ā

Arguably the intro song would have been the poetic beginning, or even end, to this foray into Musical Lebowskianism, but do you see what happens? Do you see what happens when you fuck a stranger in the ass? The Man in Me is not an appropriate answer to this question, but it does make sweet ear candy for the lazy malaise of the film. Bob Dylan was a chameleon and this song is but one example.Ā Ā
It is important to respect the classics. While I wonāt pretend to have known the song made famous by the Sons of the Pioneers,Ā Tumbling Tumbleweeds has a soothing nature about it and Iām here for it. Add to it Sam Elliotās baritone twang and youāve got the setup for an epic movie indeed.Ā Ā
Impossible it would be to talk about classics and not mention Requiem in D Minor, a song youāve heard a thousand times and might not know the name. After you rewatch this movie, or based on this musical journey decide to watch for the first time, do yourself a favor and grab a book off the shelf, loop this song and shock yourself at how much better you read with this music in the background. Say what you want, but youāll feel like a genius. For those looking only for a tune and a laugh, click to watch the scene below and enjoy The Dudeās ability to sayĀ āfuck itā better than anyone (sorry I canāt post the video directly, evidently you can only post five videoās per post... probably should have learned that by now).Ā
The Big Lebowski (clip 10) "What makes a man, Mr. Lebowski?"
Well I hope you enjoyed your journey through the musical folly and forte of the soundtrack to the cult classic Coen Brothers film, The Big Lebowski. I would highly recommend it, whether it stands the test of time or not, but at the very least I hope you come to appreciate the soundtrack.
āLook, I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin Eagles, Man.āĀ
Grandmaās Boy, Underrated.
It must be stated that before I clicked the little button to write this post, I felt a strange sense of Deja vu - a few beers and I slide quickly and comfortably into the land of blissful ignorance to the world around me and revery to the binge-drinking-carefree adolescent I only half-heartedly miss.Ā
The good lord only knows I could keep that lifestyle up, and one close to me would attest. But I wasn't violent or aggressive, just a barrel of fun... rolling down a hill with no way to stop it...
Anyway, I fucking love the movie Grandmaās Boy. This movie is hilarious to me for a number of reasons, but my favorite reason, and one Iām sure Iāveshared before, is that my cousin tried in vain to get me to watch this movie for years. I always brushed him off, mostly just for the fun of it after a while.Ā
Cheers to you D, you were right all along.Ā Ā

A lawyer representing a 17-year-old charged with shooting three people during a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, has resigned from his position with a defense fund that has raked in more than $700,000 to defend his client and conservative causes. Hahaha, ābring lawsuits to check the lies of the leftā while defrauding investors. Whew, at least Kyle will be represented by the kind of slimy filth one would expect.Ā
Pierce said he resigned from the #FightBack Foundation fund, which has raised money to defend Rittenhouse, to avoid any āappearance of conflict," USA Today reported. Pierce and his firm, Pierce Bainbridge Beck Price & Hecht, have been accused of defaulting on millions of dollars owed to investors, according to court documents.
Pierce acknowledged in New York court documents earlier this year that he had failed to pay Karish Kapital $4 million for cash advances it had made to Pierce's firm, which also has a much large payment of $65 million looming for another investor, the newspaper reported.
Pierce and Lin Wood, another attorney who has taken up high-profile cases championed by conservatives, started the fund in early August. The fund is described as a way to ābring lawsuits to check the lies of the left.ā
