Oh no i have absolutely zero idea sorry, however i did ask my mum if she knew:

so this dude. i was remembering him from hungarian history and now we are going through it again whatever to the point

okay so there was this guy named Hunyadi who was the governor or hungary in the 15th century, that was the time when all the turkish invasions happened you know the deal. he was the governor because the king at the time was 4 fucking years old anyways, he won a super important battle and when the king got old enough to do his task Hunyadi still remained an influential noble and the leader of the army.

Hunyadi dies in the plague and his two sons, Matthew (Mátyás) and Ladislaus (László) were going to claim their inheritance, but Ladislaus was the older one and so the only one inheriting. he got into an argument with a group of nobles, and either he, or one of his men ended up killing one of the Very Important nobles

now what you need to know about hungarians is that we love to make up lies about our history. naturally the king here, who by now was the ripe age of 17, had to have Ladislaus killed because it was the medieval ages and he murdered a guy and death penalty was a-okay. so they captured him and brought to have him executed,

and much later in history people really took a liking to Ladislaus and wanted to make his death seem unfair and cool

and so they came up with the rule of being allowed to go free after the executing axe missing three times, Much Later than it could have actually saved the guy
