One of the postcards, from a collection ofĀ āalternative postcards from the edgeā showcasing theĀ āminor historiesā of the islands. FOund out about this book this week at the Nordic Ruralities Conference (ruralities.org). Going to see what itās about!
A selection of postcards from our session, showcasing the various ideas and issues of thoughts from the colours of the Hebrides to the matters of fishing and crofting, to the rain, and the labour of the land.Ā

On the croft in North Uist in a region known as the Black Lands. A crofter shows me their land, where we discuss the idea of crofting the hardships behind and we explored a thought experiment about land ownership, territory and tenancy.Ā
A small workshop in Uig to create the community board in the cafe this past weekend. While keeping a simple graphic for the main board which will hold changing panels of the Ionad Hiort project, we also had children from the community collage together their own map of St. Kilda.
