Just saw an interview with Guillermo del Toro in which he said “Emotion is the new Punk” and tbh that’s the mood for 2018

I think it’s really weird that the average person needs a home and a car and an education to effectively function at all in a capitalist society but those things are all such an exorbitantly high price that the average person would never ever be able to pay for them one lump sum and thus we decided that upon entering adulthood every average person would likely have to sign their life away to various powerful banks to pay for these things and everyone was just like “Ok, that seems legit and not fucked up AT ALL.” and now it’s such an accepted and normalized part of society that everyone looks at you like you’re dumb for thinking it’s weird. I just think it’s really fucking weird.

the recent trend (and I don’t mean that in a derisive way at all) among Us Kids of invoking religious language (heathen, blessed, holy, godless, etc) has made it so that it’s actually really jarring when I’m reading about homophobic christians and they say things like “god will shelter us” or “this is a godless city.” I’m like no you don’t get to say things like that that’s gay culture now

People seem to forget that Ms. Katheryn Hudson only rose to fame after “I Kissed A Girl” was controversial. That lady literally used and sexualized homosexuality to sell her debut single and then went on to write lyrics about an ex who she thought was gay saying “I hope you hang yourself on your H&M scarf” on that very same album. But defend her I guess!…Stan I suppose! Just know that woman couldn’t give a fuck about LGBTQ people. All she cares about is herself the checks she rakes in from profiting off our culture and any other culture she can get her hands on.
