my elaborate ass persona + mascot of this blog masterpost I guess
and a little bit of my life story that no one asked for because it's my blog
Preface
So since I was a small child, I had dreams of saving the world because I was told I could change the world. When that came crashing down on me, I lost a lot of my joyous whimsy to the wrath of my mental illnesses and did what any mentally ill person with a keyboard or a pencil or a drawing tablet would do: I started to write and draw to cope.
From that spawned multiple instances of the same character, all of which eventually became important parts of the same one: The Primordial Archdragon Asche'iraktha. (Ash-ee-rock-thah)
The Mascot
So the mascot of this blog's name is Beau, as my personas are reflections of me at various stages of life in various contexts. They can give away my hopes, my dreams, my wishes, wants, even fears. My personas are pieces of me in the truest sense of the phrase.
With that being said, Beau, the character, is a lazy demigod. Well, not so much 'lazy' as deeply depressed, and knowing full well that if he just magics away everyone's problems, they won't learn how to avoid more problems in the future. Which sucks. But hey, it also means he doesn't use the vast majority of his powers. Hell, he hardly uses any of them until he HAS to.
Beau and Asch, in their Entirety
This header is a bit of an oxymoron due to the nature of Beau and Asch; Asch's constituent pieces, which are all instances of Beau so to speak, are constantly multiplying exponentially as the the multiverse's timelines continue to split. (This operates on infinite multiversal theory.) Asch being an omniscient Deity does not always apply because they literally can't know everything all of the time. There's new stuff coming into existence so fast that nothing can keep up and remain coherent while doing so.
Beau, the character, is a deeply caring person, but because of his link to Asch, his moral compass is often malfunctioning to some extent. He's been alive too long; immortality is a curse and mortality is terrifying. So what does he do?
He does what everyone chronically online does: He clings to escapism outlets like a motherfucker, which in his case, is watching stories unfold through the lens of powerful scrying magics.
The Meta Elements
Asch is meant to represent an omniscient narrator in any work, whether it's Homer describing events to the player of Hades or Hades 2, or the words of an unnamed observer inside of a book. Asch, however, also broadly speaking can represent a reader, and as such, is a sucker for a happy ending no matter what it takes to get there. They rarely leave their castle to intervene, content to observe.
Their fragments, my personas, however, are not always content to do this. They represent unreliable narrators, who often know more or less than they let in on. The fragments also have more of my traits when I take the role of a reader or writer. (This bleeds into Asch as well since Asch is the noble beast I crave to be.)
Conclusion
I fucking suck at keeping up with rp sideblogs of my own. I can't keep anything nailed down and consistent here to save my life. (Including my sleep schedule.) So, moving forward, I will be roleplaying exclusively as Beau and possibly Asch under this blog, my main from now on if I engage with Tumblr's rp blogs at all. It saves me the headache of micromanaging multiple blogs so I can try to pull my shit together in the background and find a goddamn job.
