A shrug of his shoulders was the only response he could give. “Why blackmail you? There’d be no point. Besides, if we have the same goal, why would I want to ruin our friendship? It wouldn’t be in my interests to do that. As long as we’ve got the same goal, I have no reason to reveal your identity to anyone.” No, they had a mutual interest, it would be a bad idea to ruin the trust of the fellow student, let alone become someone disposable.

“No, I haven’t gotten that far. But I’m sure with enough research I could crack the code. After all, why would someone even need to fake their last name to begin with? It would likely be due to ties with someone important. Or you’re trying to keep your sister away from someone dangerous.” It wasn’t difficult to guess why someone would fake their name after all. And with the identity of Zero known to him, it would be even easier to figure it out. After all, what drove a person to do what Lelouch was doing? “I would be more surprised if you didn’t use your power on me. If I didn’t reveal my hand, surely enough you would use it anyway. So why not relent. You know about me, and I know about you. So why play my cards close to my chest?”

Well, that was a lot more information than he wanted to get out. The grin faded as he mentioned the abuse and branding. Ice blue eyes narrowed at the comments. “Just like how your last name is a lie, huh?” He spoke with a hint of amusement. “And how you’re fighting against Britannia under the guise of ‘Zero’? Or how you have some strange power that I can’t quite figure out yet. That’s the most curious thing I’ve come across.” Safe to say he was doing a bit of research on the boy in front of him.

Hands stuffed into his pockets, and his brows raised in amusement. Well, that was right, they both knew quite a bit about each other, it would seem. Stuff they didn’t want others to find out either. “How about you go first, and tell me what you know about me. And then I’ll tell you what I know about you.” Yeah, he wanted to see what he would say as a result.

A brow lifted in curiosity. Talk about straight forward. It didn’t mean that Touya would be as straight forward though. “I was talking about the book. Is there a problem with that?” His voice was calm, though he couldn’t keep the grin of amusement from his face. This was really the best.

Well, he probably caught on a lot quicker than Touya expected. The boy straightened out and stretched up his arms. “What, you gonna confess to me or something?” He was pretty sure he knew what it was about. For now he’d play innocent and follow along.

Amusing that they recommend avoiding being despised and hated, due to the goodwill of people being the best defense, but still recommend being cruel over being merciful.” Amusement was written in his blue eyes. “It makes me wonder, what kind of leader would you be?” An innocent enough question, right?

“Guess that makes me no one?” Touya patted his back again before pulling up an empty chair, sitting in it backwards. Intrigue was written on his face. Sure, it was out of character to be so buddy, buddy… But why not? Eyes turned to the book, brows lifting. “So, what’re you reading.” He made a move to snatch the book from the desk and start leafing through the pages.

“Better assholes than you have tried to psychoanalyze me and failed,” he muttered.  Shinsou turned and walked out the exit to the gym.

He spent the next couple of days planning, and set up a villain fight timed for when Shinsou would be able to see him in action. Lelouch stood in his emperor robes in front of the villain who’d robbed a bank. He dodged him and talked loudly until he saw Shinsou in the crowd. Then he smirked removing his contacts and looked the villain in the eyes. “Lelouch vi Britannia commands you stop this and peacefully turn yourself in.”
