Hey there! I won't brag a lot about myself but I just wanted to say I have a lot of hobbies, my fav one is drawing and that's also what I'm best at, I also play the guitar (classic and electric ones), I make edits, animate from time to time and I love listening to music. Also I'm a Catholic, please be respectful.

Writing is not my main hobby and I don't focus on it much, so it might not be very professional, but whatever I write I try to do it as in character as I can hence sometimes the process might take a while - I struggle a lot to get every detail done.

One day, you get an invitation from a friend to a big party. You agree to go. You know it would be nice to get all dolled up, but at the same time, you're afraid your makeup skills are not good enough. You decide to ask someone for help. Lucifer, who seems to be constantly wearing makeup, comes to your mind. So that same evening, before leaving for the party, you go to his room and ask him for advice/a tutorial on eyeshadow or eyeliner. He's quite surprised that you went to him with this task, but he's happy to help nonetheless.

That's how you ended up on the chair in front of his vanity. He stood in front of you, leaning down to be at your eye level. In one hand, he held a fluffy brush, dabbing colorful eyeshadow softly onto your eyelid. He stuck his tongue out in concentration, while his other hand held your chin to steady your head. His close proximity and touch was flustering. You closed your eyes to not think too much about it.

In all fairness you didn't expect him to take it so seriously, but you certainly didn't complain.

Once Lucifer was done, he leaned back and admired his handiwork.

"I think i did pretty good, dont you think?" He stepped aside so you could take a look in the vanity mirror and see for yourself.

"Yeah it looks amazing! Thank you!" You answered excitedly.

"By the way, you look good with blush, it suits you." He smirked.

The thing is, neither you nor him have put blush on your face yet. You flashed your teeth in a bashful smile, then quickly got up and scrambled away, muttering some more thank you's and excuses on your way.

Her death worsened his alcohol and work addiction.

He has a somewhat (?) close relationship with his daughter, spending time with her when he's able to (or remembers her existence).

I did a similar take in: this post ; so i don't have much more to say about this BUT imagine that his wife was somewhat similar to Mitzi. It would be heartbreaking to see him chasing a ghost, trying to bring back/replace someone who doesn't exist anymore🤝

And since you mentioned a kid... I agree that he would sometimes neglect his daughter, however its not that he doesn't care. It's just that his memory is really bad, and the amount of alcohol that he takes in is making it worse, besides he's a busy man, he has a business to uphold, though that should not be the reason he doesn't spend time with his kid.

I feel like this could go both ways:

He'd be grieving and having problems with moving on, trying to take care of a child who reminded him so much of his deceased wife, which made the kid the apple of his eye.

Or

He tries to replace his dead wife with someone else, tries to numb the pain with alcohol, and gets lost in the process. He can't look his own child in the eye because every time he looks at them, he sees what happened to his wife. It's not that he hates the kid nor blames them for her death. He's just devastated and falls into despair every time he remembers that she's gone.

(I'll take hazbin thoughts too if anybodys up to it👀)

I imagine his wife dying would be one of the reasons on why he became an alcoholic, to cope with her death. AUGHH, how I love angst.

A sound of bottle clinking against the floor echoed throughout the room as his hand lost the grip on the its neck. He turned to the side and let out a small whine at the throbbing pain that pooled through his body, then closed his eyes.

He doesn't have the strength to get out of bed and pick up the bottle. His eyes open and roam around the room. His gaze stops at the picture frame laying face down on his beside table. He winces.

The frame holds a picture of his deceased wife. He couldnt bring himself to move it anywhere, but also he couldnt look her in the eye so it stayed there, slowly collecting dust as the time passed.

He hoped to fill the void she left in his heart with another woman. A woman named Mitzi, whom he had known for a long time. Unfortunately, the needs of both parties prevented him from being with her.

But his thoughts won't leave him alone. Is Mitzi really only after his money? After all, those moments they spent together seemed too sincere. Is he simply delusional? But there's nothing to think about anyway. She's made it clear to him that unless he helps her, she won't accept his advances. It's a lost cause.

Will he be able to fall out of love with Mitzi and fall in love with someone else? Would that even make sense? Especially when deep down he still hasn't come to terms with your departure.

In his dreams, he still sees you laughing, holding out your hand for him to follow you through the park... which grows darker with each step he takes closer to you, until finally the surroundings becomes more and more achromatic, it becomes gray, then black, and you sink into the ground. He falls to his knees, tail blristled, ears down, digging where you'd disappeared, begging for your return. Mitzi appears beside him, offering a hand to help him up, but when he takes it, she vanishes into thin air. Wick shakes his head and reaches for the nightstand drawer. There's a nearly empty bottle of whiskey. Unfortunately, if he wants to soothe his mind, he'll have to get out of bed, and trudge to his office, where a bottle of Scotch is waiting for him, hidden under his desk.

My rambles/opinions:

Hii!! Thank you so much! You flatter me and Its such an interesting question :)

What I do and recommend you to do too is:

1. Familiarize yourself with the era in which a given character lives – this can be very helpful when writing a story, especially when describing places and behaviors, as not all behaviors were considered appropriate in every era. If you arent sure if you can write a character say or do a specific thing, look it up on google!! (Or other browser idk lol)

I also recommend diversifying character dialogue with words that were popular at that time to further emphasize the point.

2. Study the world in which the character lives. Try to determine what they like about their universe/life, and what exerts pressure. Try to determine what they like about their universe/life and what puts pressure on them. See what behavior is most common in this world and what distinguishes it from others.

Try experimenting with how far you can bend the rules of the world before your writing becomes OOC.

3. Pay attention to how a given character speaks – are there any specific words they often repeat/ how often they speak up/ do they feel the need to speak up or do they prefer to keep thing to themselves/ what specific thing catches your attention and what distinguishes that character from others.

4. Above all, pay attention to the character's personality. Get to know the character better overall! Read/listen to their dialogues more closely, observe how they behave and move (are they stiff or rather animated, upright and taking care of their appearance or hunched and sloppy), analyze which facial expressions they use most often and whether their emotions are genuine or just an "act". If so, ask yourself: what are they trying to mask? what are they afraid of?

Also I advise you to study the character differently than before. Not only from your own perspective, but also from the perspective of others. See what others think of this character and compare your perspective to theirs.

5. It's quite obvious but I still want to mention it. Want to write for that character? Be that character! Try to look at things from their point of view.

Put yourself in the shoes of the challenges and problems this character faces. Ask yourself what you would do if you only knew their solutions. See if their decisions differ significantly from yours, and then try to understand their thinking. Think about where their likes/dislikes towards other characters come from and how their behaviour changes around others.

6. Rember it's also okay to write ooc stuff! You can write your own headcannons and just have fun :) believe me that trying too hard can drain you out and we definitely do not want that!!

I was hoping if you could write Mordecai with fem reader who is his s/o, okay see my vision, readers tail moves A LOT it's kinda hyperactive like rocky when he drinks too much syrup. And most of the time readers tail hits other people too much

Idk if this is ooc but he'd wrap his tail around readers tail to stop it from moving to much and hitting other people

Here's my quick take on this idea:

I feel like he would actually do this. But in his mind it's more of a "I'll do this so: you won't embarrass yourself/I wont have to socialize and apologise to everybody around", so he does that mostly for the people around and his own sake.

He'd be quite nonchalant/sneaky about it too. After he learned that you can't control your tail well, he stopped berating you with words such as: "Could you not?"/"Can you calm down?". Now he doesn't say anything anymore. He just keeps close to you, and when he sees your tail acting up, he'll silently hook his tail around the tip of yours. If you ever mention it, he tries to brush it off as: "I don't want everybody staring at us" but deep down he knows it can be annoying to you too and he's just trying to help you feel a bit more comfortable.

However if you're moving around a lot like for example while exploring the speakeasy or doing some chores he won't be at your side since keeping up with you might be difficult and being tied to you by the tail isn't very comfortable. The constant tugging and rushing isn't to his liking.

A/n: Not sure what else I can say regarding this topic, so yeah, those are my thoughts about your idea :)

Imagine Vox trusting you enough to tell you about his life as a human. That's when you learn he started his career as a weather presenter. He continues, bragging about how he climbed the ranks, but you stopped paying attention to him a while ago. He could tell by the smirk that spread across your face.

Vox stops his yapping and looks at you with confusion.

"What is it?"

...

"Wouldn't you like the know weather boy?"😏

"Excuse me?!"

He looks baffled. what are you on about now?

It's disgraceful to be called a miserable weatherman when he rose to prominence, was the head of the TV (hehe, how ironic), and now is the CEO of THE voxtech. How dare you underestimate him like that?

Since then, you've been repeating this joke over and over again every chance you get. Vox gets so fed up with it that he glitches merely at the words "wouldn't you like"😭 At some point, he starts avoiding asking you any questions because he doesn't want to risk falling victim to your lame jokes again.

Maybe if you prolong this torture he may or may not desperately beg you to stop... Its not funny anymore, it never was. He was so proud of being a weatherman at the beggining of his career too:( how dare you💔🥀

A/n: If I'm not wrong, Wick went to boys-only school so for this fic let's pretend like that school allowed for every gender to study together. Reader is GN!

Imagine you and Wick went to the same college. You weren't majoring in the same subjects, but one day you had combined classes together. Sedgewick sat down next to you and completely captivated your attention; you couldn't concentrate on the lecture. There was something charming about him. His smile was infectious and it warmed your heart. The realisation that you were clearly staring at him for too long came right when you saw him glance at you with confusion. When your eyes met, you became bashful, at which he smiled with amusement. Naturally, his smug nature couldn't stay hidden for too long. The stranger struck up a conversation, teasing you about your unusual behavior, but he wasn't mean, no, it was just a gentle banter. After that chat, you became friends almost immediately.

Your first impression of him didn't last for too long. After spending more time with him, you found out he was a little awkward at times, but you didn't mind. Everybody's a bit goofy in their own way. Besides he was really easy to talk to - mostly because he carried most topics and... rambled a lot about what he was studying. You noticed that despite being on law, he was really interested in geology too, to the point where you started joking he should change his field of studying.

Your friendship grew. You started meeting during breaks, eating lunch together and talking about various shared topics.

One evening when you two were free from all the assignments Wick invited you for a walk to wind down and take a break from all the studying. Of course you couldn't say no to that offer.

You walked side by side at a steady pace. The afternoon wasn't particularly warm, but the sun's rays, sinking toward the horizon, caressed your bodies with a pleasant warmth. The silence of the park, interrupted only by the rustling of treetops and the occasional singing of birds provided a relaxing and intimate atmosphere. Neither of you remembers exactly how your conversation began, but it progressed quite quickly. Your conversations blended together, jumping from one topic to another, until at some point you started talking about your families. It started off well enough about how much you two owe your parents, the things you have achieved thanks to them and the fact that, among other things, you are in college thanks to them... but soon your exchange took on a more subdued tone. You began complaining about how overwhelming your parents' expectations were towards you and your scholarship, how sometimes you felt like their love wasn't unconditional and hence how oppressed you felt. How despite having so much you felt so little. Wick listened to you politely, nodding his head from time to time. His expression changed to more sorrowful one too. At one point, he also spoke up. He said he knew what you were talking about because he himself could relate. Then Wick started talking about his own experience and how despite having a lot throughout life, he lacked his parents' attention and non-strict childhood where he would not be punished for behavior that was considered inappropriate.

That conversation bound you together even more. You realized you had more in common than you initially thought.

From that moment on, you began to feel a little more at ease around each other. You became less tense about sharing your worries with your companion and talked more often about your feelings and what was going on inside you.

You provided comfort to one another and you realized you two started taking steps towards healing your inner children together.

You definitely didn't expect such a journey when you first saw him, but you weren't complaining at all.

After spending so much time with him, you found yourself quite enamored and soon enough, you realized from his courting that he was too.

After another year and a half, you two were almost inseparable. Everything felt so vibrant. You were lovestruck and never felt better.

Suddenly Wick came up to you one day and said he thinks of dropping out of the college. He felt like studying law was not really his thing so he didn't feel obligated to finish this major and graduate. You looked at him in shock. He didn't want to graduate? He was so smart that you thought he would try to finish college, make a bigger career and please his parents. But another important question running in your head was, what would happen between you two? Will you manage to find time to get together while one of you is trying to graduate and the other is trying to get a career started? Won't you get too tangled up and busy with your own lives that you will have to part your ways?

- "Y/N?..."

So? What's it gonna be?

- "I can wait for you if you want me to." Wick tilted his head, offering you a reassuring smile.

- "No it's okay. I won't stop you. I want you to be happy." You reciprocated his smile. However, yours looked a little strained.

Wick seemed to pick up on that tho.

-"I uh... I feel like law's not for me, you know? But I don't want my decisions to ruin what we have." Hesitantely he took your hands in his.

You went silent. You stared at his face completely perplexed.

-"I'll join you." You blunted out, but even you were surprised with your own words.

Wick looked at you flabbergasted with wide eyes.

- "what? You don't have to do this just because of me!"

- "yes I know. But I want to. College has been draining me out anyway." You shrugged and looked down at your shoes, trying to realize the weight of your words.

Ypur conversation went a little awkward afterward. You had a lot to talk about and plan what to do next, but in the end you went with Wick's plan. You never graduated but you stayed together. Wick decided to go into geography rather than law and his choice turned out to be a bull's eye. He worked his way around and he became a successful businessman and you... Well, with a little help from your partner, you managed to find a job that satisfied you.

Even if you decide that you weren't made for each other after all, You part on good terms, and despite everything, you can always count on each other. He's like a good old rock to lean on haha... Sometimes you'll find yourself smiling back at the memories of your college sweetheart, but there's no big regrets whatsoever.

BUT IF YOU END UP STAYING TOGETHER, YES!👏

GO GET A DOG. A GOLDEN RETRIEVER PUPPY AND RAISE IT TOGETHER (Idc that there are no dogs in canon Lackadaisy). WICK IS LITERALLY A GOLDEN RETRIEVER EVEN IN HIS DOG VERSION (that was drawn by Tracy).

And maybe a kid if you want. THAT'D BE NICE TOO🤾‍♂️

Mordecai was walking home after finishing his tasks for today. It was chilly, but it's not a surprise for the inhabitants of Missouri since winter has arrived. Steam rose from his lips as his feet waded through the glistening snow. While walking through the park, he saw children playing in the snowdrifts. One of them broke away from the group and began to form a snowball, then called out to the others to join him. His thoughts drifted back to one of his childhood winter memories where he participated in such activities...

Let's start with that Mordecai didn't want to play in the snow - It would melt and dampen your clothes. You'd go home all cold and wet.

You had to persuade him so he would finally (reluctantly) give in.

You'd go first, falling backwards into the snow moving your limbs up and down, rubbing them on the snow. Mordecai looked at you with horror.

"what are you doing?! You say you want to play together, and the first thing you do is roll around in the snow. Soon we'll have to go home and change clothes."

"I was making a snow angel, but if that's not what you want to do, it's okay. How about we build a snowman?" You sit up.

"I suppose that is fine... As long as you stop weltering in the snow." He sighed.

"yay!" You clapped your hands and stood up.

You started waddling around through the thick snow slowly building up a big snowball. You saw Mordecai doing a similar thing, but he was slower than you and you saw him doing some small pitstops from time to time to look at his making and correct whatever was wrong with it.

A few moments later you rolled the ball to him and stopped at Mordecai's side.

"okay, my part's ready! What about yours?"

Mordecai turned to look at you in surprise, seeing how quickly you had formed a big snowball, then...

"What is this?" He quirked his eyebrow and looked at you and your making up and down.

"A snowball!" You reclaimed proudly.

"This hardly is a snowball, rather a miserable replica of a lawn ball." He frowned lightly.

You laughed. After spending so much time with him, you've learned not to be offended by his words.

Then you looked at what he managed to make. His snowball looked oddly neat, maybe it wasn't straight up perfect but it was so much better than yours, really round with no lumps sticking out of it.

"Woah, you overdid yourself!" You praised him.

Mordecai's lips curved up in a delicate, proud, yet restrained smile.

"I just simply estimated how big the snowball should be and how it should be rolled on the snow to achieve the right size and proportions."

Then Mordecai insisted on helping you correct your snowball so it would look more professional.

Once the snowman was done, you two stood in front of it and stared at it proudly. You parted from your friend and ran away to the side and a moment later something swooshed through the air and landed spluttering white over Mordecai's arm.

"What? What is it now?" The tip of his tail started to twitch with irritation. He turned to look in the direction where the snowball came from. He saw you, giggling with hands stained with evidence of a crime. "What is this supposed to mean? Why did you do this?"

"SNOWBALL FIIIGHT!!" you shouted and started forming more snowballs.

Mordecai just stood there looking unamused. "I'm not taking a part in these stupid games" a snowball hit his coat. "I won't join you."

You kept giggling and throwing snow at him. He huffed. "Can you stop?"

You didn't. Mordecai frowned, then took a big huff of air and grabbed a handful of snow, then threw it in your direction. The snow flew right at your face. It hit you and you stumbled back.

"Ow!" You brought your hand up to hold over your eye.

"And that's why I don't indulge in these stupid games." He said in his 'I told you so' voice

However when he saw you were standing there, genuinely in pain his expression dropped.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah, I'm okay." You choked out.

Mordecai didn't look convinced, he took a step in your direction. "I knew these stupid games wouldn't end well. Show me your face." He demanded.

You slowly took your hand off your eye, a bruise started to slowly form around it. Mordecai's breath hitched slightly at the sight.

"I'm so sorry, It wasn't my intention to aim at your face. I simply wasn't looking where I was aiming and missed miserably. I'm terribly sorry."

You took a breathe in to soothe the building pressure in your throat.

"It's okay, I know you didn't mean to. I started it, It's not your fault."

"I disagree. You're saying that because you don't want me to feel guilty, even tho it's clearly my fault." Mordecai's tail swooshed behind him.

"hey, it's okay, really." You hesitantly reached for his hand. His ears fell back at the touch. "Accidents happen and I'm not without a fault either."

Mordecai sighed and turned his head to the side.

"How about we go home and get some hot chocolate or tea to warm up?" You try to cheer him up.

"I'd prefer to not look your mother in the eye and explain I hurt her child and then invite myself into her house. That's just unmannerly." You could hear a hint of embarrassment and guilt in Mordecai's voice.

"you're not inviting yourself into our house, I'm inviting you! And I've been through worse, really, I end up with a new bruise every two weeks. Besides my parents don't have to know it was you!"

"I-... I'm not sure about that." Mordecai looked down at the snow beneath his feet and hesitated.

"Oh come on! Let's go, don't worry about it." You put your other hand over his at which he looked up at you. You sent him a smile and started to walk towards your house and drag him with you.

Steam escaped Mordecai's mouth, this time in a sigh, which wasn't sad, but rather, in a way, wistful. His lips curved into a quiet smile.

When Rocky saw you reciting poetry in the speakeasy lobby, he felt threatened. He thought he was the only literary soul here and no one would take his spotlight.

It turned out to be the opposite. You were living proof of that. You stood there, receiving applause from those gathered around you.

Oh no. Rocky won't let himself be replaced by someone like you.

He made his way over to you and interrupted your recitation. He first greeted you by introducing himself as the poet of the place. Then he began to ramble on in verse, quickly coming up with a poem. In short, you didn't like it. Who did he think he was, interrupting you like that?!

As he was finishing his speech, you were already preparing sentences in your head, forming a series of beautifully flowing rhymes. Immediately after he finished speaking, you spoke up, presenting a poem of your own making.

Rocky bit his lower lip when he saw this. He didn't know you'd be such a tough competitor. You're actually not that bad. You came up with the poem pretty quickly, which is admirable... But for him, it's a piece of cake. He does this kind of thing on a daily basis!

Right after you finished, there was a brief round of applause, split between the few people who had decided to come for a drink today. Rocky took over and began composing a new poem in the heat of the moment. He slightly changed the subject matter to better engage the audience (who were almost nonexistent).

Oh, a worthy competitor. A tough nut to crack, but quite handsome... But that's not the point now! You have to prove that he's not the better one. As soon as he finished, you threw yourself into his words, trying to rattle off a poem on a similar theme to his last one.

This banter went on for quite a while. Half the people sitting in front of you had already grown bored and left, but you didn't pay much attention to them anymore anyway. Now it was a serious battle, one-on-one. You were leaning closer and closer to each other. Rocky took up all the space around him, gesturing dramatically to the words of his poem while you clenched your fists and spoke louder and louder.

The last remaining audience members began to stare at each other. Your rivalry took a strangely romantic turn. You began composing love poems, weaving in the traits you found interesting about each other. At a certain point, no one really knew if you were still fighting or flirting. The tension grew to the point that the last two people in the audience stood up and slowly began backing away. You began pushing into each other's spaces, asserting your dominance, or at least that's what you thought. When you realized what was happening, you quickly moved apart and crossed your arms over your chest, pouting as a light blush spread across your face.

Rocky raised an eyebrow and took a deep breath.

"So? Who's better?" He looked toward the audience, which was already gone. "Huh?" He made a sound of surprise at the sight of empty seats.

"I think we both did very well. You're a worthy opponent, how about a draw?" You spoke up in a calmer tone.

Rocky gave a slight hum of indecision, then sighed. "Fine. Whatever helps you sleep at night." he said with an exaggerated false ego.

Once charlie proved redemption was possible, heaven decided to agree to redeem sinners, though they still said that the hotel needs a supervisor. After the heads of the councils spoke, they decided that you'd be the one who will go down and help around sinners get on the right path, and also keep an eye out.

The first day you were supposed to go down, you were really nervous, but also you were curious to see what's it all about. Emily told you a lot of good stuff about the hotel and it lifted your spirits up.

The first time you took a look around... It was... Uh, rather not very pleasant. Dominated by a sharp red color, hell was very different from the warm, soft pastel colors of heaven, and on top of that, that stench... at least now you can appreciate the place where you usually stay even more - you have to see the positives in all of this.

When you stepped into the lobby, it was overloaded with people. It was a surprise because apparently some time ago Charlie was complaining about the lack of people. This sight means a lot of work, but that's good because it will give you more souls to practice your redemption strategies on.

You tried talking to some people, but they turned out to be quite rude, not exactly appreciating your good intentions. You didn't manage to convince anybody so far. You decide to talk to one more person before you go back home. You really hope that at least one person will listen to you.

You walk up to the bar and plop down on one of the chairs. You lean miserably on the countertop, order a glass of water and think about what you can change in your approach.

"rough day, huh?" A low, but raspy baritone resonates though the air.

You lift your head up and see an anthropomorphic cat with card themed markings and red wings polishing a glass in his paw. He's one of the staff, Husk was it?

"Yeah. A lot of people are acting, uh-.. a tiiiiiny bit creepy towards me..."

"I can't say it's much of a surprise considering the amount of scum hangin around here" he shrugs "Let me give ya a little tip." Husk slides a glass of water towards you. "You need to approach those who really want to change and be redeemed. People who are already taking part in Charlie's exercises and actually try."

You look down at the water and then look up at him. The corners of your lips curls up and a small sparkle appears in your eyes.

"what? Don't look at me like that" Husk looks a bit frightened.

"Perhaps you would like me to help you? To talk about your past, try to find the best treatment for your specific situation!"

"situation?... what? No! there ain't nothing to redeem in me. Go find somebody else." He didn't let you say anything else as he already turned around and walked over to the other end of the bar to busy himself with mixing drinks for the others.

You scowl. Fine, you'll give him some more time to think about it. If not now, then later.

You supervised some of Charlie's exercises. You even took a part in some of them and tried to strike up a conversation with a few of the sinners. Fortunately, Husk was right; the people who participated were more open to your help.

Every day you went downstairs and helped people. You lifted their spirits and politely suggested things they could change about themselves.

Husk sometimes observed you from behind the bar. You were pleasant to watch and easy to spot; you differed from all the sinners around you not only in appearance, but also in behavior and posture. The sight of you talking to every single tormented soul, and your faith even in the worst ones, gave him a smoldering illusion deep inside that there was hope for him too.

One day, you had so much to do that you didn't notice how quickly it got late. It was already evening, and you were just finishing up rehabbing the list of people you'd scheduled for the day. You took a deep breath, and before heading back to your home, you decided to stop at the bar. You sat down and ordered apple juice. As your drink was being brought to you, you looked at the bartender. Suddenly your thought from last time passed though your head. You took a glance into his eyes, which seemed a bit softer than you remembered - but maybe it was just your imagination after encountering so many harsh glances from the sinful souls around you. You slowly sipped your drink as the crowd around the bar began to dissipate. It's time to shoot your shot.

"So do you really think not every soul can be redeemed?" You asked quietly, almost hesitantly.

His ears perked up and turned in your direction.

"I don't think they cannot be redeemed. I think not everyone should be redeemed." A low rasp echoed through the bar.

"On the one hand, you're right, but on the other hand, I think that if you're offered a chance, you should take it... If you succeed, it means that you are truly worthy of stepping through the pearly gates." You said in a quiet but confident voice, then stood up and left."

This gave Husk a lot to think about. He couldn't stand how deeply your words stuck with him. It seems you really have a talent for this persuasion stuff.

You noticed that the next day he seemed to be a little out of this. He seemed to be in thought a lot... That was until he started drinking as usual. You weren't happy with the outcome, but it must mean that you wriggled your way into his brain.

You decided to direct your "desire to help" at him. You also came up with the idea of approaching him in the evening, when no one was paying attention to you anymore, since it seemed to work the last time.

You were careful about it - you learned to never jump too quickly to sensitive topics like his death and such. - Surprisingly it worked quite well. You managed to get his trust and you even felt like you two built a friendship together.

Your conversations stopped being redemption-cetered and they reached a stage where they formed naturally between you. It was a routine for you to sit down at the bar because a minute later you'd already have something to talk about. It wasn't just you starting conversations anymore, but he was also intervening. The silence wasn't awkward, but rather pleasant and strangely connecting.

Sometimes after a rough day of tending to so many customers, Husk was even looking forward to the small talks he had with you every evening.

Days, even weeks, passed. More and more sinners managed to enter heaven. You thought back to your first meeting and looked at the present with a smile, thinking about how many changes you'd managed to implement, not to mention your relationship with Husk, without whom you now couldn't imagine your evenings. It would be nice to have him by your side every day, wouldn't it?...

You brought up the topic of "redemption" with him again. This time speaking more honestly, from the heart.

This wasn't a conversation between two strangers, where one person wanted to do the other one a favor. This time, it was a conversation between two friends, where one wanted a better outcome for the other.

"you could join me... It's great up there, really. I think you'd like it there... And perhaps we could see each other every day!" You chirped.

A faint smirk sneaks on Husk's lips

"You really want me there, huh?"

"Y-yeah, I mean, why wouldn't I?" Your cheeks dust with a light blush.

He can't promise you you'll see him in heaven one day and you can't expect too much from him, but he will try his best, for you.
