K’s mother and her mother’s suiter (who’s one of those people who refuses to take the potion) think they may have had the plague, but are no longer afflicted by it. Since I’ve been around them in recent times this might not be good for me. Having the new brand of the plague could take me out of the academy temporarily. I haven’t even started to go yet and I might have it taken away from me already. Truly crushing. The academy offers testing to those without symptoms, but I don’t know if it’s wise to attend my first few days of classes if I might have it, even without symptoms. My Monday classes may be forced to attend via crystal ball instead of in person, if god forbid I do end up having the new plague strain. We all know how terrible crystal ball classes are, I just couldn’t let myself do that to my classmates. Here’s to hoping I’m plague free, - Best wishes, J

However, this sorry state is finally about to change. I'm going back to the academy in a weeks time and I could not be more excited. One good thing about the plague is it gave me time to reflect on what I really want - and being an educator just isn't for me. I'm changing course at the academy for good now, and am going to try to become a merchant. And to be honest, I just really want to see my old coven again. I want to know they survived the plague. I want to know they're flourishing. I want to see how they've improved. I just want my friends back. Really, it's all I want.
