my first reaction to TVL ep 7, NO SPOILERS
I LOVED IT! Best episode of the season in my opinion
Wow. People are already freaking out over Armand's actions at the end of E5.
Yes folks, Armand is a monster. They're all monsters. They all kill people. And that's what Armand does. It's exactly what he does in canon. He seeks out the troubled, the suicidal, the tired. They come to him....and he does what he does. Because he's a vampire. Because he's a monster.
And this monstrosity is what makes Devil's Minion so compelling. Daniel is a true monsterfucker. He knows exactly what Armand is and he loves him regardless and because of it. And that is the first time Armand has been seen and loved for what he truly is. It's the perfect gothic romance.
And if you don't get that, then sorry but you don't understand Devil's Minion. And you certainly don't understand Armand.
dm aside that entire daniel/armand exchange was so funny because “did you actually not get tortured by me?? was none of it real???” “noo babe ofc you tortured me, you tortured me so well you’re so good at torture”
no one could ever make me hate armand. i’m sorry but never have i seen a more complex character in my life. assad handles armand and his story with such care, we are so lucky to have him as our armand.

BIG BOSS gives Daniel an in-universe reason to call Armand "Boss" without feeling narratively or anachronistically jarring
armand is my princess who’s never done anything wrong except for the Unacceptable Act that he did that one time and by one time I mean several times.
I don’t know how useful that is as a disguise if people are reading the book and know that Armand’s name is Arun. [...] We don’t know exactly how he spent the two years, but I think there has been a regression. There has been a regression into a past version of himself. [...] Arun is Armand coming back out of his cocoon, his two years of sort of hibernating after this devastation. He’s coming out, he’s showing himself, and he’s like the baby version before coming back into Amadeo and Armand.
Assad Zaman via Nerdist
"Armand gave up on anyone understanding his plight or trying to see him and it's something to have in mind for episode 7, he will have a moment when he feels genuinely understood". What if this is not about DM but Akasha trying to get him on his side and truly making him feel seen? Could be a character development thing to have him reject her or something, even tho she brings him the thing he wants the most
Cusp of Amadeo's Turning🎂

daniel i frew up :(
Don't get me wrong, I love devil's minion and everything to do with Daniel and Armand's storyline, but I do wish there had been more build-up before the love confesion.
Ofc they had crazy chemestry during the last 2 seasons. Still, I feel like leaving so much off screen (for now) takes away some of its emotional punch.
That doesn't take away from the giddiness I feel after ep 4, I love them and their complicated relationship <3
The offscreen pipeline from "Hello, Arun" to "He's like a god" must have been CRAZY can we talk about that. Can we.
if you wanna be a fan of this show you gotta be okay with hating your favorite characters a little bit

One thing I really hope the show gets into is Armand's relationship with religion.
Does he still genuinely practice islam? Did he stop after meeting Marius? Did he convert to christianity? (I haven't read the books, but I've seen people say Marius doesn't exactly have the highest opinion of other religions) Or did Marius become his god instead?
And what are we supposed to make of him praying salah in Dubai? Was that genuine, or was it just another performance for Molloy?
And now that he's seemingly starting another coven... after what Alex said, I wonder if he sees himself as his own god, or is it all just for show?
I feel like religion is such a fundamental part of Armand's character. It ties into themes of power, servitude, and the faith required to keep going. I think the show has barely scratched the surface, there's so much unexplored potential here.
oh shit
